My snifter let me down tonight...

    So tonight I got home from work, poured a 60 Minute IPA into my DFH snifter. I then walked about five steps into my living room and the bottom fell out. Has this happened to anyone else? I've never put it in the dishwasher and always wash by hand as directed.

    They're hand blown glasses IIRC, and are known to have the occasional problem. I'd send that picture to Dogfish Head with your story and see if they'll take care of you. It wouldn't hurt!

    That would be my advice. Send DFH an e-mail and they will probably take care of you.

    Ouch. That's been my main glass for the last 2 years and never had an issue. Definitely contact dog fish

    Always a bummer when your go to glassware breaks, but take heart, there are worse things to break. For example, arm, leg, pelvis, condom.... You get the idea...

    Don't get me wrong, I'm not butthurt about it. I know things break and I will live. I was really just curious as to if this had randomly happened to anyone else with the same type of glass wear.

    I have two of those and really enjoy drinking most of my ales and IPA's out of them. Love the shape. Sexy glasses.

    E-mail DFH.. Maybe they'll tell you how much it sucks and quote a price on a new one. I'm sure they won't send you a new one for free, but worth a shot.

    I use that glass every night I drink beer. Edit: I use that glass every night. It's a winner, although DFH might consider slimming it up just a tad right where your breakage occurred. Or, maybe not. Good brewery, good glass. They will make it right, I am sure. It's a cross between a snifter and a goblet. A snoblet?

    Where were they when they exploded? All of the beer is on the ground, not the table, and it looks like a garage/out-door space, so they exploded WHILE you were holding them?

    No just one did while holding it. The other 3 were while sitting on my table. The BC Stout was on my cabinet. The top and bottom blew up! Glass was every where. Actually just found a piece across the room today.

    There's a guy in the Cleveland area that fixed a very cherished, rare German Pilsner glass for me with the same problem, it's very difficult to tell it was ever broken. (Well worth the repair investment.) Agreed with earlier suggestions, contact DFH.
