Firestone Walker Parabola 2015

Quit being greedy. Those limits are there to ensure that as many customers as possible can get their hands on a bottle. After a few days, they are usually relinquished and you can buy them up, but give people a chance, instead of being a dick to the employees.

 

Some batches are great fresh, some need a couple of months to settle down. Having said that, I've always enjoyed a Parabola best, around the 6 month mark. So, to get the best of both worlds, I'd say let it sit in the refrigerator for about 3-4 months and see how you like it. So that way, you can atleast imagine what it might have been like fresh, and/or with a few more months on it.. Of course, the absolute BEST would be to grab a case or two...but I digress

 

Picked up 2 today at TW Folsom. They have 1 left. 2 bottle limit.

 

Thanks bro. Nope, haven't landed one yet - sold out everywhere I called. It's all good though...guess more for my homies!

 

What were they asking for the vertical, out of curiosity? Headed to Buellton soon, and hoping they have some, but not wanting to pay more than $75-$80 for the set.

 

I was only able to track down one bottle. I drank it, now it's gone . I would love another one to age, but seemed to have sold out in minutes everywhere. My question is, will there be staggered shipments of this in the coming months, or is there no more Parabola going out after the initial shipment?

 

One guys opinion, if it is the first time you have ever had it, drink within a month. Then you can decide how much you want to try and chase or trade for in the future. There are always Parabolas up on the trade forum...

 

Stumbled across a hole in the wall liquor store in San Diego that had a 3 bottle limit for $16 a piece...the decision to pick up the max limit was pretty easy

 

Smaller stores may receive more in the next few days but besides that there are no secondary shipments from FW

 

It's getting harder and harder to get a hold of Parabola these days. Beer has exploded in popularity over the years. A way better beer than Abyss.

 

Landed another last night but still need at least one more to have an even split with my brother (who has hooks me up all the time.) But since his cellar is stuffed we may not get a even split on this one.

 

I'm only keep 2 for myself and trading the other 4 away to people who don't have access to Firestone beers, and I wasn't being a dick, I did not raise my voice, the cashier was actually being a smart ass with me I was just going to buy 2 but because of the cashier's attitude I wanted to speak with the manager and he kindly obliged honoring my purchase. The website did not say there was a 2 bottle limit.

 

True it's the Bevmo managers responsibility to edit the amounts of online orders if there is a limit set. So it was his bad in the first place that the order even went through for 6.

 

ISO this amazing beer. I hope someday soon firestone will be in MN

 

Hey Gents - I'll be traveling to Dayton & Miamisburg Ohio this week. Does anyone know of any good beer shops to go to out there? I was hoping to find some Parabola or KBS.

 

The FW beer finder said a Costco near me had some, so I drove out there on Sunday March 29th to check it out. After not finding any on the shelves, I asked an employee to check for me. He said they got 18 bottles earlier in the week and they were all gone. He also checked chainwide inventory; the closest location to Southern California that had any bottles was Goleta, that had 20 bottles.

I drove to BevMo about two miles away and they said that the hated Allied Distribution had not yet delivered their allotment yet and to check back on Wednesday April 1st.

You know, I used to manage a record store in the 90's. If any album was coming out on a certain day, it came out everywhere on that day. When a movie is released, it plays in theaters nationwide on the same day.

What is up with this release date horseshit in the beer industry?

 

Not the story I heard from a guy at a local shop. He said the allocated shipments would arrive soon and then, a few weeks later, he would be able to order again from the unallocated remainder. I presume this is sort of tomofoolery that the distributor (the hated Allied Distribution) is up to.

Seriously, WTF is up with this beer industry, anyway?

 

Goleta Costco does not have 20 bottles. That was the allotment they received and sold out of immediately. They just never changed their inventory on the computers. I checked a few days ago and they said they had 20, went to grab me a case, and came back apologizing for the computer error....

 

It was the Albertsons on Kimball and Telegraph. Sam's Saticoy also got it in this weekend if you'e looking for more. Limit 2.
