Could just be based on current supply of it. They have done 64 ounce fills in past. I am sure they want to make sure these limited fill beers are available to people drinking at the tap room. More people in tap room drinking more of their beer good for business.

    I like your style

AGE is one of the only beers I don't balk at paying $38ish for a 64oz growler and I've done it multiple times in the last year.

They did a similar event like this last year. The concept was similar, but it was hosted at OH, all free and only poured Brooklyn Brewery ghost bottles...6 if I remember correctly. It was also during the workweek and the OH taps opened as soon as the ghost bottles were all poured.

I showed up about 30 minutes early with a line of probably around 20 people ahead of me. They used the brewery space rather than the taproom space since there were more people than can comfortably fit there. No one was denied entry due to overcapacity and it wasn't shoulder-to-shoulder (or butt-to-balls) at all. Garrett stood atop the bar in front of the cold storage room and gave his synopsis of the history of each style, why he made them, what his tasting notes were, etc. He - along with lots of Brooklyn Brewery employees from the packaging, cellar, and brewing side - walked around and poured samples for all attendees, encouraging conversation and questions. It was an awesome event. K is for Kriek was a ghost bottle previously that we were able to taste a few months prior to release. Wild Horse Porter (brett porter, Q2 2015 release) was also being poured at that event.

With all this said....the venue has changed into a much larger space. The known bottles are OH bottles with a really suggestive hint that other goodies will be thrown our way (I'm thinking more Brooklyn Brewery ghosts than OH one-offs, but who knows).

Will it be crowded? Sure. But the capacity at Brooklyn Brewery can accommodate 3x the crowd. I wouldn't be too worried.

Yeah like @JGam115 said above, the Ghost Bottle tasting at OH was great. Good crowd, but wasn't crowded at all esp since they were only allowing the first 50 people in. But I don't think even 50 people showed up. So there was no need for me to show up an hour early - ha.

I def think the tasting at BK will be more crowded, but their tasting room is so much bigger than OH.

    I'll be there!

And I'll be over at OH today around 1:45.

Only standard screw cap 32/64 oz growlers. They use a counter pressure system, so flip tops doesn't work with that.

Great time there as usual! The addition of periodic pop-ups by Brooklyn Burros and those awesome quesadillas makes for an incredible time at the tap room.

Was very crowded but when the open up the brewery floor they can accommodate the crowds. Problem is they can't crank out the beer fast enough to accommodate the crowd resulting in long lines for beer. Anthony and team back there doing a great job busting their asses, OH needs to figure out a way to be able to serve more beer faster, they are missing out on some revenue opportunities.

Equinox was very good as well as the usual stand-bys. Looks like a handful of new beers coming soon too.

I think they need three people working the tap room on the week-ends. Two to pour, One to handle growlers. Granted it would be a little tight behind the counter.

Equinox is delicious. The Rosso is really nice too. Flavor Particles is ok, I wasn't blown away.

Also, the screw cap needs to be wide mouth. I bought 32 oz NEBCO growlers and was rejected. The counter pressure system works very well. Kept my beer carbonated even though their was about 3 inches of headspace on my fills.
