Take note that the Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is from 2009, that baby has some age and is drinking fantastic right now.

I'm glad you enjoyed the growler, and happily it looks like it still has some carb! That's pretty impressive since Tired Hands has pretty low-carb'd beers in the first place, and that growler had to be a couple weeks old by the time you got to it, I'm very happy it wasn't a mess.

It's really funny to me that you put it this way, I was talking to someone about the box I was putting together, and mentioned that "in Stout III I was lucky enough that Tired Hands put on an Imperial Porter right as I was packing up my box, and was able to include it... I wish I could be lucky enough for that to happen again." I had said "lucky" because TH does very few dark beers, like 95% are IPA/saison/other low abv.

This conversation happened on a Thursday morning. [background: I must be home by 6 on Thursdays and Fridays for my wife to go to work, and Tired hands, 30 minutes from my office and 40 from home, opens at 4]

The very same day, Tired Hands posts on their instagram that they tapped Only Void, and I knew I had to go. Somehow despite a foot of snow on the ground, I manage to get there on Friday, and by the grace of god it hadn't kicked yet.

You still have my number one tick! That cherry bcbs is all time tops for me. CBS came close, but I'd takes yours any day.

I've got about 130 oz of pure stout for box #2 and headed to beautiful Iowa City for the weekend. I think the box could use some non-stout padding to round the box out a bit, so I'll be sure to pick up some Iowa area beers.

Sorry I've been absent last few days. Got pretty damn sick and haven't moved much. But I did manage to track down a beer I had not even heard of (150 bottle brewery only release) til I saw it on my targets want list (kinda wanna drink it myself now haha). Had to go do an IP trade today to make sure it's in his box. Hope ya like what's Coming to ya

I started the verticle, lucky enough to get a 12 and 13. Might be only one of 2 in the world with a mini verticle of the famous beaver brewing cherry bcbs. We still need to get a keg of 14 over to the man...

Wow so NOW I'm super flattered and impressed.
Thanks for sprinting on down there under your limited time frame and in the SNOW no less. I can barely remember what that stuff looks like. But i remmeber it made driving a pain in the ass.

And yeah, the beer was fantastic: a little low carb but not flat. Even after more than another week in my fridge.
Tired Hands has been one of those breweries on my radar for a while i just havent made point of seeking them out. I know they known for IPAs and sours/Saisons but I didnt realize dark beers were scare in their line up. Also lots of big stouts have names that are meant to sound impressively dark and deep and mysterious and then they dont really live up to the moniker. But damn Only Void is a seriously well-chosen for that monster. So much flavor, it's crazy.

I feel so special. lol. Seriosuly though dude. Thanks. thats was very BIFfy of you.

And no i had no idea the Brooklyn was a 2009! :grimacing:

Now I'm afraid to drink it.

    You rock, dude.

Don't be afraid to drink it, it's really smooth right now. With that said, I'll see if I can find a freshie for you to drink them side-by-side if you like.

And again, just glad you enjoyed it, that makes it completely worth it :grinning: (a good excuse to sample their lineup of the day didn't hurt either )

Finally started packing up some boxes. Currently standing at 231 oz with an average rating of 92.93 packed. More room in the second box still, so there will be more added this evening. Looking like I will be packing a third box as well because there are a few beers I wanted to include that haven't found their way in yet. If I can manage to fit in all that I have planned it will stand at 391 ounces with an average of 94.2; all stouts.

May throw in 22 ounces of non-stout just because I know my target will like it; rating of 95.

Hope my target has free time on his hands to unpack this impending bomb.

Three boxes...all beer. 331 ounces of stouts at 93.5 average. 353 ounces total at 93.6 average.

Will be shipping out Tuesday to a target with a smaller shirt size than me (however there is no shirt in these boxes).

There may be a fourth box coming during the shipping window if I manage to poke around the cellar and find something I forgot to throw in. It's a nightmare now; bubble wrap, packing peanuts (don't worry, target, I don't use them to ship), and empty boxes all over. So, if I find something I forgot to throw in, I will put together another, which will then include swag.
