Parabola - Release Sightings

For what it's worth, Costco in Santa Maria has it for $10. Grabbed a few on Wed. So the $10 price is not outside the realm of possibility. Think it was around that price in SLO last year as well.

 

Just the Paso Robles brewery with one bottle. $18+ Per bottle.

 

BevMo on the corner of Santa Monica and La Brea has a single bottle left. They seemed very disorganized. I asked the employees manning the beer tasting section and they said they were keeping it behind the register and a limit of 1. When I got to the register the guy said they didn't have it and went to the manager station to "look when it was coming in". He came back to the register and said that they were getting it April 15. The guy from the tasting section saw me at the register and came up and pulled the box out from the hiding spot and gave me the bottle, and offered me the last one as well for the other guys' mistake. I kept to the limit one just to be cool.

So not sure if they are truly getting more on the 15th or not, but I think he probably was telling me that to get rid of me. If anyone is in the area that last bottle was still there about an hour ago.

 

Hell, I'm not even sure I would buy his story of the last one being offered to you. Seems like shady employee shit to keep product under wraps.

 

BevMo employees tend to be totally clueless. While it's certainly possible there's some shady stuff going on, my bet is that they don't know what's up. Parabola's just another SKU...

 

Whoa, they increased their price already at the brewery?

 

BevMo guy told me there is a 2 bottle limit (I reserved a case online last Thu) but that he "will let me have it since he doesn't care"

it's not uncommon, and in fact the norm for Firestone to have it at actual MSRP at the tap room. They don't want to undercut/under sell the stores, after all.

5 cases landed at Bevmo Escondido. 1per. About 4.5 cases left. Go get em.

And just to pat myself on the back a bit... when I went in I grabbed a case and headed straight to the register. This new gal that started this week rang me up and scanned it as a single bottle. I hesitated for a half a second and then corrected her that there are 6 bottles in there and she thanked me for pointing it out. Ok beer karma gods, you owe me one

 

Not sure if anybody hunts for this on draft but La Jolla Public House tapping a keg of regular bcbs tomorrow shortly after 4pm.

Also it seems weird that I trade for Parabola around southern CA. Ah well, need more..good stuff.

 

you should just go up to Barrelworks and make a trip out of it. all the Parabola you want. best part (for you) is you won't have to go to LA

speaking of LA, i can't wait till FW Venice opens

 

Barrelworks is on the 25th, but can't say I am going for the parabola. =P

 

Dropped in with a friend and the two cases in Santa Rosa are gone already.

BevMo! in San Francisco (Geary location) has it. It is not on the floor and there is a one bottle limit per customer. I was able to snag three bottles. Not sure how much is left.
