Hey Everyone. Two questions regarding flower power in CT. First off - do they sell this anywhere in the state? I had it on tap last week at Delaneys in New Haven, and it was amazing. Tried a lot of IPA's but this was one of the best.

Also, are there any other IPA's that are similar to this that I should check out?

Yeah it's available but only certain counties. I live in Middletown and the cut off for distro up here is Meriden. U may get lucky at Total Wine in Milford they have it from time to time. Amity gets it too but sells out super quick. I'm sure there are other stores that are out there that I don't know of. And for ipa's u can purchase at stores I'd say Flower Power is in a league of its own. Cheers!

Actually Finest Kind by Smuttynose super fresh is pretty stellar as well. Should be easier to score. Good Luck!

Flower Power shows up in Fairfield County once a quarter maybe (best guess based on what I have seen)... Anconas (Ridgefield) occasionally gets it, Fairgrounds (Danbury) occasionally gets it. I'm sure 99 Bottles must although I have not seen it there. I'm sure there are other spots as well. Luckily I can get it more frequently across the border in Westchester.

Stores that carry Flower Power when its avail.

    Total Wine in Milford
New England Beverage Co. in Orange
    Amity in Hamden
    Wallingford Wine and Spirits
    Amity in New Haven
    Racebrook Package in Orange

Off the top of the head,I really can't think of another "similar" ipa avail. in this area.

    Cheers

Would we put Big Eye which is slightly less available ... but available ... in the similar category? Certainly similar quality.

damnit smutty jim you know I have flower power and if you didnt you should have! But yea man Windsor Package in Stratford, CT has some but stores are only allowed to get one case a piece so you have to get there when they get it. I follow them on facebook and always know when Windsor gets it in. You could try the same, Good Luck

When is it usually available? I live close to Amity in Hamden, and while they have a great selection of beer, I have never seen flower power. That place is actually on my sh*t list as of late. I routinely stop in to pick up a case of Bengali Tiger and they never have it. Beer problems!

I saw Flower Power in Fairfield County probably the week before the 4th. I had a full fridge so didn't buy and happened to notice it was gone when I stopped into the same place on the 4th. That doesn't help you on timing other than to tell you that you just missed this shipment!

Not quite sure when its exactly avail.,I just frequent certain stores and notice flower power and check best buy dates.FYI,Ithaca dates their bottles best by 90 days.So if you see some best buy sept. for example, they were bottled sometime in early june.Flower Power is def. on the shelves alot more compared to a couple years ago.

    Cheers

I did not mean in taste ... I meant in quality / overall reputation of an IPA available on the shelves of CT ... Clearly different flavor profiles in the two beers.
