Pseudo pints already jumped to $7 and 32 ounce growler fills to $11. Kind of a bummer since I got 64 ounce fills at Casanova's in WI for $10.99 last summer! Can't complain though and happy to pay it for convenience.

Trust me, considering economies of scale it makes $ sense for TG in this scenario too. The Brew Hub buys large quantities of everything so I'm betting even with freight cost (which in the big picture is quite minimal) I'm betting Brew Hub pays themselves just off of their own provided cost savings (and I'm sure a little on top of that!).

Again, I wouldn't be surprised it TG was using this to quickly fulfill ridiculous UNMET demand. Just think about it, it will take the Brew Hub 3-4 weeks to brew and ship up 100 bbl batches to Iowa - whereas expanding themselves even with financing, permitting, etc it would still be a year out before TG would be producing.

I'm assuming they signed a 3-5 year contract (speculation) to where TG probably has a plan in place to be self-sufficient by terms end. Who knows? Maybe Clark.

It was the Green Room a place that had maybe 2 of their beers on engines (English Brown mostly) and brewed in 1 barrel batches. I wish I could tell you they were good but that would be dishonest, but the brewer is a nice guy so maybe that helps?

Slighly disappointed in Pompeii, but only because I was hoping for a juicy Sosus Jr, but instead am getting more of an earthy/dank Zeelander like profile. It's still very good, but not what I was expecting for a Mosaic IPA.

The onion/garlic comments trouble me, because I remember it smelling and tasting strongly of blueberries when it was last brewed. Still looking forward to it and the new versions of Nugget and Sue.

Did you realize your post wasn't about the Brew Hub expansion but instead about a beer that just hit distribution in Iowa?! :stuck_out_tongue:

Funny you should say that, because myself and others got the blueberry profile when it was straight off the bottling line Friday.

By Monday I was getting more of what BottleCaps and others are tasting here. Which is fine because Zeelander is my favorite "regular" TG beer besides Sue. I don't think it's nearly as earthy/dank/peppery as Zeelander, but it took on a different character in just a couple days out of the tank. It's still delicious, just a little different. Reminds me of a single hop Mosaic I got in a trade awhile back that I really dug.

Very, very faint fruit notes in the middle, but other than that, I get all Earthy notes.

Seems like what I remember from Pompei last time. Definitely not one of my favorite TG IPA's.

Weird, I didn't get any onion/garlic in mine and I had it Tuesday.

Hopefully this results in Council Bluffs distribution. Or will this just turn into another "Green Flash Alpine isn't the same thing!"?

Update: did a Sue side-by-side and figured I'd post a picture just to wrestle jimmies...(sorry for bad picture, lost the original)

Again, even side-by-side these two were very close in taste and pretty identical in nose. A little dialing in and you'd never know. The appearance difference was impressive though - the one on the right was poured 20 mins before and had similar head retention. I think TG is in great hands but you all can be the judge before long...cheers

Those look like two completely different beers. Sue brewed at TG has NEVER had that amber/dark orange color to it. It's always been clear and golden or hazy orange (depending on batch variations), but never dark-tinged like that beer on the right. Appearance is WAY off down at Brew Hub it seems. Sounds good they have everything else pretty close though.

Again, in reality they were much closer in color too - though that was the biggest difference between the two. The lighting (outside in the dark) and flash made them look much different from my phone pic.

For example: look at my pic in the original post on this thread. Same batch, the flash just didn't hit that glass really.

Yeah, that looks more like a Furious next to the Sue...Since they're going to have all that Citra down there maybe they can brew some Abrasive too while they're at it?

LOL, fuck that... if Surly starts contract brewing in FL after building a 30 million dollar brewery I am switching to wine.
