Other Half Brewing

Fun times. Interestingly my favorite was the plain vanilla, regular "other half" ipa

 

It doesn't get enough respect, but I love it too.

Went to OH at around 8:30 PM last night; was expecting it to be slammed but walked right up and got a beer. Wish they were doing Green Diamonds growler fills though.

 

I am all about the brett saison

 

So who's going to the BK Brewery/OH tasting tomorrow?

 

Have you been to a Brooklyn event like this? Not sure what to expect in terms of pure shitshowness. I'm going to an Other Half dinner event at Murrays Cheese Bar tonight that seems like all kinds of greatness.

 

I've been to lots of BK events at their tap room and it really varies from event to event. Sometimes they're packed, sometime they're not. Like I mentioned above, the Brooklyn Brewery Ghost bottle tasting last year at OH was not crowded and a ton of fun.

I'm going to assume they are going to limit the number of people who can get in.

 

I'll say it again - Lucky Dog has some of the best prices in town. $4 pints of Short Dark and Handsome.

 

Anyone now what will be on tap this Thursday at Other Half? Please post with beers and appreciate the intel.

 

No way to know for sure. Look at Untappd check-ins from Sunday, that will be a good clue. Either way go there and drink as much a you can, regardless of what they have it will be good.

 

Do they always have some bottles for sale at the brewery? Also, is there any good bottle shops in the area? Looking to bring back some goodies with me.

 

Currently they just have the Brett Saison bottles for sale, but they can sell out without notice.

Looks like the OH beer for the Mission Dolores is called Greenbacks IPA:

Is this beer exclusive to Mission Dolores or will it be in tap room? It was on board in the tap room for upcoming beers.

 

I'm sure it'll be poured in the tap room.

 

I just walked by Brooklyn brewery and there was no line. At mugs having a pint then heading back over.

 

A bird in hand is better than two in the bush! Better hope after work crowd doesn't put you at end of line at Brooklyn !

 

Got back to the line around 6:20 and there was only about 8 people in front of me. It did get more crowded a little later on, I would say maybe 80 or so people were there. Plenty of beer to go around. OH brought about 7 beers and BK popped a ghost bottle called Galahad. Good times.
