I also do a lot of bottle sharing and hosting...so when you get a BIG beer in a 12oz bottle you get such a small pout..but when it comes in a bomber you can get a decent pour withing at least 4 people..most BIG beers in bombers are INTENDED to share within a group..sharing is caring and enjoy beer within the presence of others is even BETTER!
    Cheers!

I tend to agree, although for most high-end, high-abv beers I'd never drink them alone anyway, and it's much nicer to split a bomber with 4 or 5 guys than to apportion a 12oz the same way.

think about this way its only 2oz more than a imperial pint.

An imperial pint is measured in imperial ounces, and equals 19.2152 US ounces, so the difference is closer to 3 ounces. In any case, drinking an imperial pint of high-abv beer is the same problem as drinking a bomber. It's a serving size that's simply not enjoyable for many beers.

Take the post you quoted: 22 ounces of Jewbelation 15 contains as much alcohol as 5.5 standard drinks, and more alcohol than 2 US pints of 10% ABV beer.

I'd love to see some of the big beers offered in the small 7oz like miller used to use.

Look at 750ml prices compared to regular 6 or even four pack prices. Oz for oz the 750ml almost always costs more. I gotta agree with the OP on this one. Some of these beers are as strong as port. How many people do you know that drink a whole bottle of port by themselves in one sitting? Anything bigger than 12oz is crazy, if I wan to share with a friend I'll just bring 2 bottles it's not hard. The only positive to big bottles is aging but beer isn't wine and isn't meant to age as long.

Something that Germany (especially Schneider Weisse Eisbock) and Belgium (many 11.2oz bottles) do well with their high alcohol beers.

Please for the love of god keep it out of small bottles. Bombers are perfect for spliting or drinking alone. I dont care how strong it is.

Do you not want 7oz bottles, I agree with that. How is 2 12oz bottles worse than 1 bomber? To me it seems you could have more variety and more freshness with 12oz bottles.

Because I would rather have a bomber of high abv that potentially put it in smaller bottles and see 1 12oz limits like we see with KBS. (Note my primary concern is around special release bottles. Im cool with hop slam, chill wave, current enjoy by, ect coming in 4 and 6 packs)

I liked it back when Anchor's Old Foghorn came in a 7oz nip. There were other barleywines that also came in that size.

I'm not a fan of bombers. They are a little much for one person. I like to share my beer with friends, but most of them don't live near enough to get together as often as we would like. A 4 pack of 12's would be fine. But, bring on the bombers, it is what it is!
