Everything Hess sells is too steep. $24 growler = rofl. The fill prices are asinine too.

Considering the scale of their operation, I'm not terribly surprised.

maybe mr hess bought a bunch of facebook stock and he needs $$ for the new brewpub in north park. that's a lot of money for a blended beer...priced me out

The scale of their operation means they have to select ******edly overpriced glass?

Obviously not, but it does mean that they have to charge a lot for it. For comparison's sake, Magnolia sells the exact same glass fort ~$26, which includes a fill (but a refill is only $5 less).

EDIT: They also don't seem to have any problems selling growlers at that price either, as I've been in there more than once when they have been sold out.

Societe's stainless canteen 'growler' is $22 (I think) but it's stainless.

$24 for glass is fucking ******ed.

Pretty sure Societe charges $25 for their growlers, with your choice of stainless or glass.

I would say that RR has the best growler deals....considering quality of beer, cost of glass and refill prices.

Hess is a small operation, you know that going in and you have to know you aren't going to get awesome deals.

Hess also has stainless growlers as well.

I'm gonna beat a dead horse but....

I wouldn't mind paying $25 for a growler if the law was changed, but I'm not buying a $25 growler that only works at one brewery.

On the off-topic of growler prices, Beachwood growlers are $3.

Getting back to the Torulus online sale, does anyone know if the date of the sale mentioned in this thread (7/12 @ 12PM) is correct? The BPT page says that the sale is closed.

Also, are tickets for the release event mentioned on the Hess online calendar? I'm assuming that either way the bottles need to be picked up onsite.

    OK, cool. Thank you.

To clarify my second question: are the tickets for a release event? Just to pick up bottles at Hess? For shipping? For "the opportunity to purchase the beer" again?

once you buy the tickets online, they will have your name and you just go pick up the bottles in the next week or two.

Well, that went quickly. "Straight" was gone in 3 seconds--only 2.9 seconds slower than Black Tuesday.
