Yes. That was a nod nod wink wink to anyone that may be interested -- which I figured may be frowned upon in this forum.

Are you sure you went to the right store? I just texted with the manager, he said that they have tons left. $9per with limit 2, but you can get more if you buy some Dark Penance.

Yeah my buddy just went there as well and got hold of some.

KBS seems a lot more available than the last couple of years. Like 2011 level of ease

I think they did make some more, and NYC continues to get outstanding distribution. That said, I wonder if the fact that one can now easily acquire any number of outstanding barrel-aged imperial stouts makes a difference. A few years back, I feel like it was KBS and BCS, then everything else... and everything else didn't amount to much (in fact, I can't remember much being available besides Dragon's Milk and BA Yeti back then). Now, most decent bottle shops have at least a few high quality barrel-aged options. KBS is a great beer, and still one of the most balanced and well-crafted BA Impys around (outstanding balance, huge coffee and chocolate flavor, intense roast without overwhelming the other flavors), but it's no longer the prized gem that outshines the offerings available the rest of the year.

I didn't go, but according to untappd the CBS was still flowing as of at least a half hour ago. After this tapping, and a few others, the takeaway seems to be to just avoid Barcade Brooklyn special releases. For some reason, all other local hotspots seem to handle them well, whereas Barcade seems to always be a clusterfuck.

I agree. The CBS tapping at Barcade was one of the worst run events I've ever been to. Never again. Literally had people elbowing each other to try to open a lane to squeeze by. Had people ordering 5 beers for a group then not moving from the bar and blocking people.

    Never again.

One Mile House poured the KBS and it kicked before the CBS was scheduled to pour at 8pm. After taking care of the customers who paid and did not get their KBS, CBS was served to them first. CBS kicked in less than 45 minutes. That was fast for both. Yes, it was crowded around the bar.

It was crazy, but FWIW, it was the FIRST CBS tapping in NYC, so that could attribute to it. I would only assume it was more crowded than any of the later CBS events because who knew NYC would be saturated with it a a month later.

Just got back from Prospect Heights Beer Works and they still have KBS left from yesterday and you're still able to get a four pack if you buy Dark Penance for $10. I only grabbed the two bottles, not sure how much is left. $7.99 a bottle, worth a call if you haven't found any yet.

I went to Prospect Heights Beer Works in the last hour or so - they still had it, and didn't indicate they were close to running out (I didn't specifically ask though).

According to their Twitter accounts, you can get KBS this evening at:
    - Malt and Mold LES, releasing around 5:00, 1 bottle per person
    - Top Hops, releasing about 8:00, 2 bottles per person (plus they're raffling off the opportunity to buy a bottle of Parabola)

The Ploughman has some as well, 1 bottle per person. There are four noted beer stores in bk who are still waiting for the kbs delivery, each one more irritated than the other that they haven't gotten it yet...

Also lots of KBS and CBS tappings this month, Bierkraft, Owl farm and the Gingerman to name a select few. I've realized over the years that if you are looking/want something, just ask the manager or owner, it gives em extra incentive to procure the good stuff if they know the demand is there.

I just got back from top hops and noticed my bottles are 2014. Was this true for everyone?
