I live in NY but my sister is in boulder. Is there any way I can find out what is left on the shelves at CS? Their website doesn't say much.

I was there on Tuesday and they had plenty of bottles of Nightmare, Flor d'Lees, Motif Reserva, Surette Cassis and the regulars. If your sister is in Boulder though there are plenty of shops that will have all those same bottles.

They had plenty of everything when I was there today. If you're just wondering if there's a way to find out down the road, just have her call and they will let her know

Which stores in boulder would carry them?

Hazel's is my go-to spot up there, but I am sure many other Boulder locals can chime in with some others.

Seems our growlers are finally about to get some use!

    Lifetime Members,

We have an exciting announcement. Starting today, Wednesday, April 1st, we are offering growler fills to all Lifetime Members!

No, really, this isn't an April Fool's Day joke. We are actually filling those fancy Cellar Reserve 2014 growlers. As you know, we had hoped to use these for purposes outside of hydration before now, but unforeseen circumstances prevented us from doing so.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON TAPROOM GROWLER FILLS:
    • Growler fills are for LIFETIME MEMBERS ONLY! This promotion is not available to the general public. Lifetime Members must have their member card and photo IDwith them to obtain a growler fill.
    • Only Crooked Stave Cellar Reserve 2014 40-oz growlers will be filled. No exceptions.
    • We will NOT fill any dirty growlers. We will be rinsing the growlers using our taproom glass cleaners, but we have no way of cleaning growlers beyond this. Please do not bring in dirty growlers - we will not fill them.
    • Quantities on growler fills may vary. Products may not be available for the entirety of the promotion.
    • Growler fills are only available at our taproom (3350 Brighton Blvd).

Starting April 1st, we will kick things off by offering our Lifetime Members 40-oz growler fills of either Vieille Artisanal Saison or Autumn Surette for $20. We will be changing the beers periodically depending on availability. Again, please note that only certain beers will be periodically available for growler fills. We will do our best to email as these change, but if a keg runs out, growler fills of that beer will no longer be available. For the most up-to-date information about available beers, please visit our taproom.

    $7 for 12.68oz of Surette/Vielle = $21 for 38oz ($0.55/oz)
    $20 for 40oz of Surette/Vielle = $20 for 40oz ($0.50/oz)

Yeah! We saved a $1 on 3 bottles worth and got 2 free oz! :grinning: Considering it's less packaging for them, I'd actually expect they'd make money on this over selling 3 bottles to us.

Just playing devil's advocate as usual. I love Crooked Stave and glad to be able to use my growler there.

Now if we could get growler fills of all the variants of Surette & Vielle, that'd be cool.

I'm just treating this as a good sign that we can do fills. Not sure I'd really want 40oz of either of those...but if they can ever give me 40oz of a dry hopped sour or saison...it is ON.

Yeah that's a pretty weak response to failing to get the growler thing going on time. Oh you've been waiting for a long long time for this, well come get a beer you've had hundreds of times filled at a not so awesome price point.

    Hey All,

I was a member of the '14 Reserve. Saw that they are releasing Raspberry Petit Sour today. I would love to get a few bottles of that if anyone can help me out. The BA that trusteed for me is no longer in the area. send me a DM if you can help out and we'll work something out.

    Cheers!

Par for the course if you ask me. I'm not into super-exclusive-members-only groups as it is; this doesn't help. Crooked Stave is dope and no one asked my opinion but they certainly don't help the snooty-beer-snob stereotype.

I'm not against clubs. It gives the brewery capitol up front, and you get good beer in return. However, I am against not following through with said rewards/them coming too late and being lackluster. I'm in de Garde keepers, and I live in New Orleans. Now I don't really have to trade for their stuff, and I'm guaranteed some good ones throughout the year = win win.

A few of my friends used to complain about how stale the tap list had become at The Source - typically Surette/Vieille and kombucha blend stuff. So it's kind of meh that after all this time those are the beers you can fill. Side Note: Now that reserve is over the options have certainly become better. I was there in January and loved the variety!

Cellar Reserve ending = Better quality products from Crooked Stave. It's just that simple. They can release beers at their own pace now and when CS thinks they're ready instead rushing them to meet quarterly deadlines. Plus, with all that alleviated stress they can focus on filling these bad boys. Maybe we'll see those wacky experimental IPAs and Baltic Porters we heard rumblings about back in the "brewing at the Source" days.

I'm aware of why they did it. At the same time, I liked the reserve. Some of my favorite American beers hands down. I look forward to the future of CS (and my homie getting me every release from now till  )
