Just came in at Haxton's Bald Hill $19.99/4 pk, two 4-pk limit. Have to ask, not on the floor. If you are in the area go get it!
Thanks for the tip man. Just grabbed a 4 pack about 30 minutes ago. Overheard the guy say they only got like 2 cases. Better hurry if you want some with limits like that!
Yes, they are, which is silly IMO. It's a great beer, but It's just beer. Nice to see not every store falls into the hype trap. Yes, 2 4/packs pp is def too liberal, but a 4/pack pp is exactly what it should be. That is why the beer comes in a 4/pack carrier. Same with BCBS. First come, first served. Especially nice that it's $19.98 also, instead of limiting it to 1 bottle for 6.99 or 7.99 and having to go to 4 different stores to put together a 4/pack.
Yep, that's the best price in the state, which is biz-as-usual @ that Haxton's And we're on the same page, hype/buying-wise, here's my post from earlier today: https://bottlescansclaphands.wordpr...bs-settle-for-these-bourbon-barrel-aged-ales/
Wow! Great write-up. We clearly share the same sentiments on the topic. I'll keep following your blog. Short and sweet and very informative. Gotta grab one of those Sunday Morning's! I actually just had the Lagunitas High West-ified Imperial Coffee Stout and found it super comparable to KBS, and for $6 a glass on draft, hard to beat! Cheers.
Thanks, Nick! Did you have the Lagunitas at Track 84? They won the Favorite Rhode Island Beer Bar Bracket: https://bottlescansclaphands.wordpr...he-favorite-rhode-island-beer-bar-bracket-is/
Yeah it was funny, the manager said "this is pretty limited, only two..." and was expecting to hear "bottles" after that. Single bottles do seem a little restrictive (I wouldn't bother with that), at least a 2 bottle max gives you one to have now and one to age. But really I got 2 bottles last year then had one fresh and ended up trading the other.
Haxton's is very useful. It's not like you are going to chat up a craft - knowledgeable employee, but there is great value there. I'm not a fan of the bomber format value-wise, but Haxton's has so many $5-7 bombers I make it a point to search those shelves. Great articles as of late, and yes I did finally enjoy a flight at Doherty's Ale House!
Track has been my go-to craft bar for many years now. Glad to hear Dave and company getting the respect and recognition they deserve. That's not to say there aren't a lot of other great craft bars and bar owners, but Track is a unique and special type of place. I actually had the High West-ified Lagunitas at Doherty's Pawtucket and then last night at Dive Bar in Worcester. Both times I thought it was as good or better than KBS...and without the hype!!!
FYI speaking of both I see Track 84 has the West-ified on their tap list. Am sure as usual their value will be one the best for this. Fortunately I have a family member fresh out of the hospital and will not be able to take advantage, so have one for me!
I must apologize for giving bad info on the availability of kbs at haxtons. I had stated a friend went for me and reported back that they were sold out. Found out yesterday he did get it and he just wanted to surprise me for my birthday. Sorry to all this may have affected.
