Conversations?

Pretty sure it's just like a forum post, with a comment box at the bottom. Like personal forums.

 

So much easier to follow a trade or private conversation. I hated trying to guess and click back on messages. Thanks for this!!

 

Yeah, I'm loving that feature so far too. Also the ability to hold ongoing private discussions with a large group is also very nice.

Are conversations the new version of beermails?

 

The other person could have deleted the conversation. When you delete a conversation, you have top option to no longer receive posts in that convo. I'm guessing this is what happen.

There's an option to make it so nobody can respond to the conversation. Maybe the person accidentally clicked on that before hitting "send".

 

Yes, I think so. What do you think so far? I like it. No more need for a "sent" folder because the whole discussion will be there.

 

It would be nice if the conversation page shows who the participants are. It just says the number of participants but does not say who they are. I made the mistake of calling four conversations the same name "Rate Beer Trade" since i wanted to bring the conversations back to BA and now find myself clicking on them over and over.

I also wish i could search my conversations as i remember someone telling me something but i can't remember who.

 

I assume he means on the all conversations page (or maybe on the preview from the Inbox preview too)

It just lists the number of participants, and who last sent a message, but not all of the participants by name. You are right about it being there when looking at a particular conversation.

 

That's what I assumed Mista meant, too. It would be nice to list the participants names on the main Conversations page in addition to the number.

 

Yup i meant it in the All Conversation view so i can quickly see which one to click on. Like i said i created 4 threads titled "Rate Beer Trade" and as they reply the order changes so i find myself constantly clicking the back button to find the correct thread. They all look the same since they each have 2 participants and i am the last one to have commented so last post always says Mista. I know it's my own fault for creating 4 conversations with the same title. I'm just trying to sort these trades and constantly have to look at threads to see what i have offered someone else.

Overall though i love this new conversation tool and the new BA forums. Great job!

 

I just noticed you can edit the title of the conversations! As a simple fix i'm putting the other members user name in all the active conversations i am having.

 

I'd like to add, it'd be great if there was a link to "Start a conversation" directly with said person on their profile page. If it's there, I can't find it.

I understand that if you do the mini-profile when you click on someone and a small popout window comes up there's a link to "Start Conversation" but not on their main profile page.

 

Can the name just be changed back to "beer mail" some way? Conversation is an awkward thing to say. i.e. "I sent you a conversation/I started a conversation with you" I just miss the simple "BM." rant over
