Please, no more California drivers here! Y'all crap your pants when it rains and forget how to drive.
The expletive here when it's raining here and traffic sucks is 'dang California drivers'.

Leave us alone with our abundance of water and crappy weather.
Oh, and our non-**** firearm laws.

The hops come from WA, OR, and ID. Worry when they have a big drought.

We can't drive in the rain because we lack experience doing so. What's your excuse for making IPAs that are way too malty? I have a friend from up there who says "we're so good at growing hops, why can't we figure out how to use them like you guys do!"

After living in Portland for 12 years, I can honestly say that Californians drive better in the rain than Oregonians.

There is also the problem of long hot and dry periods allowing dust and oil to build up on the road surface. Add water from a rain shower and roads can become a skating rink. Happens during the first summer monsoon in AZ, wrecks everywhere.

OR IPAs can be pretty good, Boneyard and Barley Browns come to mind.

while all water isn't the same, if they were to start with deionized water and then add the right minerals to it they would be able to replicate CA water anywhere.

I don't need an excuse, don't make beer myself. But I love to drink it. Especially when it's an IPAD that reminds me of Old English...
    I keed, I keed.
But I'm an excellent driver in the rain.

I've had some really great West Coast IPAs from Block 15, Boneyard, and Crux on tap while I was in Portland, none of which were the least bit malty.

Boneyard ia awesome. The are some doing it the way I like them for aure, but they are the exception, not the rule up there. For my tastes.

I'm sure if we stopped the idiotic practice of bottling water, that would go a long way with our water shortage too.

Just wanted to leave these here. First chart is a of the percentage of the economy that each sector is in size.
Second chart is what the the usage of water in California goes to.

Now I feel really bad for the almond and strawberry farmers, bust since they use the most water of the crops, they should be cut back the most, let them figure out how to grow something that is less water intensive for a while until the problem is under control. They are in the same situation as several other jobs that were lost due to conditions beyond their control, but they need to adapt. Hell, grapes do really well in drought, and the best wine vintages are from drought years, so grow them for all I care, but figure it out. We can import a lot of food, so we don't need it as much.

As much as my dog likes strawberries, I am sure he will be fine doing without and just having carrots for his treats. I would rather have beer, take a nice shower, and drink water as needed than have almonds and strawberries.

At the moment, the water impact is not hitting industry (except for landscape) and agriculture. It's focused more at individual consumers and landscape maintenance.

By the way, California is terrible place to live. I'm glad people are leaving for the utopia's of Seattle, Portland, and elsewhere. :sunglasses:

my point is that it should be hitting agriculture, especially strawberry and almond growth.

Cutting back 25% of water usage on just 10-15% of water usage saves basically no water. It really just saves 2-3% of the water instead of the actual 25% number. Having brown lawns does nothing to help us, while slowing down a sector that only makes 2% of our economy would not really have that much of an impact for us at all, and other industries could make up minor impact.

Yep, and I'm fine with imported beef and pork, too. It's hilarious and ridiculous that some people are thinking we should just stop eating meat in CA and that will solve all of our problems.

I'll be fine, I trained my body to process ocean water the same way it does tap water.
