Stout BIF Round 4 Hints & Hauls

Glad that you were pleased with the box.

I knew from past messages that you enjoyed doing side by sides with BBA beers and their bases, so I included those where I could.

Recently when I checked in a DR13 you asked about how it was holding up because you still had one in your cellar. So, that gave me the idea to include two DR15s so that you could try it now and also have another one to cellar. I think it is going to age very nicely.

Have fun digging in and remember that there is still one more small box coming your way as soon as I'm able to secure the last item.

 

It's the last 750 mL bottle release (approximately a 10 months ago I believe?)

 

First of all, I'm really glad you were paying attention, very cool of you. Public service announcement to all you people that never post a damn thing: YOU GET A BETTER BOX IF YOUR SENDER KNOWS WHAT YOU LIKE.

I'm still really confused about this... But, I won't complain as long as that box has some whataburger sauce in it... I'm calling BS if I manage to go to Houston and no one tells me to get any, and then get 6+ boxes from Texas among a few different BAs, and I still don't have any?! Whataguygottado for Whataburger Sauce!

I do hope you enjoy sir. The two boxes will arrive at different times...I got pulled into a couple unexpected meetings at work, and by the time I ferried box 2 to shipping, the bus had left! On the bright side, even being the smaller of the two boxes, it was enough to make the damn one series bitch about airbags the entire drive to postal annex.

Already found one extra bottle for you, so unless you strongly protest, probably a third box in the next month'ish... :-)

Worked a 20 hour day yesterday on a gas emergency. Stumbled out of my car to see 2 boxes sitting on my porch. There were smiles, there were tears...but in the end, @CTJman killed it with brews:





I even slept on the couch, with the guys on the ottoman next to me so they could ease me back to sleep if I had any nightmares.

All seriousness, f'ing so much SQUAD in this box.

So how much is too much to ship in one box?

I have 8 bombers and 18 12 oz bottles packed up in a 16x16x16 box. Its lined with squishy foam on all sides and each bottle is wrapped in foam wrap and a bag. They are packed in pretty tight and not moving around at all. If I calculated correctly it should be just shy of 50 pounds. I plan to tape the crap out of the outside of the box. Any of you experienced shippers see any issues? I see most of you using multiple boxes for roughly the same bottle quantity.

Thanks for all the great beers! All of these are beers I have never tried. That is why I do these BIFs, to try new beers from afar! As an added bonus a good number are bourbon barrel aged, and I'm a sucker for barrel aged beers. So thanks again!

 

Well I still haven't even narrowed down my sender at all, this is going to be real surprise. So ready for all the upcoming pRon.

I'd post another hint, but I don't think my target will even see it. But I'll be shipping later in the window.
