Wow. I live in Florida and I still haven't been able to try Hunahpu. I'm jealous.

As a quick update... I'm married, and drank an amazing beer at my reception. Thanks.

A True Beer Advocate = lots of extras in a trade

Awesome thread. I've never traded with anyone, but I can assure you I'd get joy out of sending a little extra in the package as a surprise. Giving is better than receiving is true.

Yep, awesome thread. Heatwave33 deserves some special BA knighthood or something.

We're lucky as there are many true beer advocates on this site. Brabander and his neverending Westvleteren generosity comes to mind as does the UK's Reluctant Scoop and his amazing beer tours of Sheffield (just ask jazzyjeff13 and Emperor Bevis).

    awesome stuff.

want to mention (especially to people who post a lot of longwinded, anti-ebay / anti-exploitation posts like i do) that the kind of generosity talked about in this thread is exponentially more valuable than forum bluster such as mine about anti-ebay / anti-exploitation.

it's good to remind people via posts that the community is worthwhile, but it's better to remind them with real world generosity. without stuff like this there's really no point in moralizing about "the community." it's like adama's speech in the battlestar galactica pilot.

Heatwave is really just a fantastic guy. And I didn't know you were a UM fan, too -- even better!

He welcomes one and all to his home, regardless of the rarities or lack thereof in the individual's stash. And he never hesitates to share some of the great stuff he has at any given time. I've also seen firsthand -- well, empty bottles anyway! -- how generous he is with a trading buddy who lives near me.

Just a great guy who also happens to have an awesome wife, cute kids, cute pets, and an awesome beer collection.
