Trying something new — goofy name for the brewery, but the beer is not bad.

Good morning, BAs! I have an odd schedule today, the weather is lovely, I've had more than enough coffee...

...wait, scratch that. It's time for more "coffee." :grinning:

A good friend scored me a couple bottles of this and has been curious for my opinion. A cloudy cool and calm morning equals great conditions to burn some yard debris. Going to take a break and enjoy this by the fire.

Pours a thin but oily black color with plenty of foam that I find in most Lagunita's products. Faint coffee aroma and not much barrel going on. Flavor is coffee, but not overpowering by any means, smooth rye whiskey, and a bit of bitter-sweetness with a dry finish. Very balanced and easy drinking. I was shocked to see the abv. at 12%.

With that said, this is a very enjoyable beer, especially at the price. I believe it cost around ten bucks. There are better options in this class, but this one deserves a place in the rotation as well.

    Have a great week!

The tail-end of the 2012 Bourbon County Coffee Stout that my beer store got in on Friday...

I was hoping for a 32 oz. fill, but I was "late to the party" as they say (who's "they"?) and it started to fizz out, so I ended up with a 16 oz. fill  lol :stuck_out_tongue:
No complaints, though - this is some top-shelf drinking right here - super smooth and chocolaty with plenty of bourbon and coffee flavor throughout...
I actually had this back in 2012, bottled, and this has aged quite nicely - as far as my palate recalls: smoother but without any loss of coffee or bourbon flavors - glad I stopped in :grinning:

    Cheers...

Last day of the grandsons visit. It's been a lot of fun, having them for three days.
Today we're building Lincoln Logs. I'm drinking my last Chillwater. Thanks @SomethingClever for bringing it with you on your visit.
