When constructing a brewery: Announce and opening date. Add 6 months. Add 2 more months. Add another for good measure. Close for 2 weeks. Re-open.

Seeing that they are former Great Divide guys and that it is only 3 blocks from my house I am pumped for Spangalang. Plus, who doesn't like saying that name....

I really hope one of the brewers has more ability/ direction than was shown at the brewery that cannot be named if you don't wanna see a lawsuit....

I think the management for the "brewery that cannot be named" is to blame for their reputation. Several of their brewers have had very solid resumes and backgrounds, so I think fault probably (mostly) lies elsewhere. They're full all of the time because of their location, so they probably couldn't care less. Kind of sad because their intangibles are through the roof. They could have been the next big thing. At this point, I think their place has been cemented.

I still remember being impressed early on only to discover the beers were all gone or totally different a month later.

I think it's the one that rhymes with Blenver Bleer Blompany and the reportedly unfriendly interaction they had with the brewery now known as Platt Park.

Couldn't agree more with this statement. The original GCP was amazing. Only to fade and fizzle with each subsequent batch. I agree with ownership directing and forcing talent to leave. Have high hopes for Spangalang.... RUFIO... I can't help but say that after the name.

@ablackshear think patio brewery in LoHi that just lost their entire parking lot. @Jasonrm72 gives another great hint.

Ahh yeah, I remember that now. I guess I'd forgotten because after that I won't buy any of their beer or visit their brewery

Hit up Goldspot this weekend and was impressed. 6 beers on tap and all were decent to good. The IPA was the weakest link, but nothing wrong with it. Clarity was good on the non-darks and no off flavors.

Went back to Beryl's for the first time since opening and while they now have a few barrel aged beers on tap. Both of those beers were heads above the rest. The regular beers weren't bad, but nothing amazing. What is nice is being able to sit on a large patio and enjoy the sun with some suds without 1,000 people all over the place.

Spangalang. That is pretty fun to say - also it looks like they're opening at noon on Thursday.

Their FB page. They didn't specify whether this is a soft opening or a grand opening but judging from the size of their equipment I don't foresee them running into any "oh crap, we gotta close because we have no beer" situations.

I saw a guy wearing a Spangalang shirt at the Falling Rock over the weekend, so they already have merch.

Just found it. For some reason FB was being weird about pulling up their page. Just ran by their place this morning. They certainly look ready to open!

We were peeking in the windows on Sunday morning, and the guys working inside told us to come in and check it out. Space looks great, can't wait, finally have a neighborhood brewery in walking distance

Anyone know what Spangalang's MO is? Are they shooting for a specific niche or just going with the sometimes hard to find "good beer" theme?

    From Westword announcement last fall:

As for the beers, Rees, Wiley and Boyd plan to brew almost every style they can think of. "Some will be aggressive; but we want some sessionable, too, and everything in between," Rees says. "All will be flavor-forward."

One of their biggest goals will be a focus on quality, he adds; some new breweries have been criticized recently by everyone from customers to established breweries to the Boulder-based Brewers Association itself for their lack of quality.

"We are also looking to create a special environment where we have a super-educated, super-friendly staff. You can really elevate the experience that way," Rees says.

    and from Eater

The brewers have eight beers on deck for the launch, including two IPAs, a saison, an imperial stout, a Belgian dubbel, and a Belgian table beer.
Rees and Boyd have made it clear that their intention for Spangalang is to focus on the tap room, with no intentions to distribute beer out of the gate. Their goal is to be serving frothy pints of fresh product at all times, including early in the day. They particularly want their spot to be open early enough in the day to suit the needs of the noon o'clock beer drinkers. Spangalang will be open at noon every day for that reason.
