Favorite YouTube beer show?

Anyone ever notice the abundance of copy-cats on youtube?

Idk why but so many people try to give a beer review like Chris of BGN. It's odd and awkward.

I think his channel made it somewhat fashionable and others tried to replicate. Not a blanket statement, but there seems to be or has been an abundance of them.

To answer the OP question, I enjoy GREG'S channel! think he could use some editorial guidance, but still gives an entertaining and educational review.

My question is are these guys buying all their own beer? And are they drinking them all?

I would like Greg more if he didn't make on average 10-15 minute long videos. Get me in and out in 3-9 mins. That dude goes on and on and on...

I use to like Proper Hops, but they have been pretty inactive.

 

All the guys on that channel seem really cool. I like the blind reviews they do when they spring a whale on their buddies like Portuguese Brandy Dark Lord.

 

A lot of people like Greg and Chris get most of their stuff free in beer mails, unless of course if they return the favorite to people that send them. But a lot of the people I know buy their own ales and drink the fuck out of them ... We also trade between ourselves if we find ales that we think others would enjoy to review as well. Either way we have a good time doing it, and have a good time interacting with each other and any one that likes to watch us spewing bull shit into a camera for 5 mins... HAHAHA! Cheers!

 

I like to watch Chads Beer Reviews time to time. Whatever happened to him and beer advocate? Sounded like there was a fall out and he was banned here or something?

 

Erie Better Beer Bureau is the one i watch the most currently. But i only found that because i used to watch the original Better Beer Authority. Both great shows.

 

Can't comment on what everyone else does, but for me I buy (or trade) for all the beer I review and I finish it all. Why let beer go to waste?

 

My guess is some are getting for free....if you notice some of them plug online shops, etc. I bet they have an agreement of some sort

 

I prefer the ones that aren't all about reviews. Trying new stuff with out any notion on what it might be like is half the fun for me. Sometimes ill watch Gregs or bgn after I try something, or if bgn has an interview or something like that.
The Ben DE Bono show is one injusyvstarted watching, it's a little different, and I sort of enjoy his commentary even if I don't agree,

Bgn has done some cool interviews and commentary, as well as his home brew videos are cool.

As far as reviews, I like how relxing Gregs is.

Beer temple is alright. He sort of helped me understand tasting and things like that.

 

i hate all of them without exception.

edit: ok, i'm wrong, i like that guy that chugs the 120 minute. edit2: classic.

 

That's interesting, I didn't know anything about that, if anyone knows I'd be interested in hearing!

I did find it interesting that he did a video editorial, kind of talking bad of beer snobs and people who just chase whales and won't try anything they've already had........most of his reviews are next to impossible beers to find, and on untappd, he has like 2,200 unique check ins.......pot kettle black?

 

Just starters watching Beer Geek Nation. I liked it. Thought it was some good reviews, particularly on
Bell's Hopslam.

Watching videos of other people drinking beer is time I could be drinking beer.

 

Darwin's beer reviews. Hands down the best reviewer on youtube, and he stays very current on up and coming beers/breweries.
