Bourbon Barrel Angel's Share! Was a little worried about this one, but I think it's great. Cheers everyone.

Ahh really? Damn. I thought Perpetual was a nice, moderately dry, rather pale beer. Loved it. That's okay, maybe my taste in IPAs is too East Coast for a lot of people :-)

Either a Sam Smith Nut Brown or Weihen. Korbinian when I get home in an hour and a half.

One of my favorites for sure, although I used to reserve it just for Ommegang, then thought, why? :stuck_out_tongue:

Nothing wrong with malty East Coast IPAs... I can dig it. However, my love is for the drier, low malt, clean yeast, high hops, more West Coast IPAs.

Just put back a few Nugget Nectars. Good beer but I really don't see why every store in Massachusetts sells out in a day. Over hyped IMHO.

Hahaha see I love IPAs that are dry, have a solid but subtle / well put together malt profile, a distinct yeast note (I like 'em cloudy), and of course, high hop. But hey, a good beer is a good beer, right? I appreciate them all.

You see... subtle vs. well put together malt profile are two entirely opposite ends of the spectrum for me. While most people may prefer 30-40% malt / 50-60% hops / 10-20% yeast in an IPA, I personally prefer more like 10-15% malt/80-85% hops/5% yeast.

Probably don' need any beer tonight after the day I had at Monk's (3.5 PtY, Consecration, Supplication, PtE, Damnation), yet here I sit with a snifter full of 2010 Abyss

Starting with a Red Chair. My coworker just brought me some goodies from Seattle, so I'll have to choose between a growler of RPM IPA from Boneyard, a DIPA and Monks indescretion from Sound and Interurban from Fremont.

    Cheers.

Eh I just meant well put together as in literally well put together. Not heavy or sweet, just not overly simplistic and something you can appreciate on its own. Not sure where I'd fall on the spectrum for proportions of flavor emphasis . . . I just like being able to isolate and appreciate all of these aspects individually.

Example: Green Flash WCIPA. Unbelievable off-the-shelf IPA in my mind, totally West Coast (duh), but it's just well-crafted through and through. On the same token, Weyerbacher Double Simcoe (regular, not unfiltered) is fantastic even though it has a much stronger malt profile. Just well done at every turn, in my opinion.

I'm drinking Sun King Isis. It isn't quite as stellar as it was out of a growler but it was still good enough for a 4.15 out of a can. Props to the guys at Sun King!
