Destihl Brewery from Champaign, IL is sneaking into Washington this week. It's been pretty under the radar so check out one of the release parties if you can. I believe they will be launching in Oregon soon too.

There is a ton of special beers on draft for the events. Expect to see a good selection from the following at the launch parties!

    -Hoperation Overload IIPA
    -Abbey's Single
    -Adambier (lacto Adam)!
    -Altercation Sticke
    -Antiquity BA Rye Barleywine
    -Black Berlinerweisse
    -Clarice BDSA
    -Counter Clockweisse Berliner
    -Downstate Pale
    -Flemish Amber Sour
    -Mango IPA
    -Nit Wit
    -Raspberry Berlinerweisse
    -Saison de Ruisseau Brett Saison
    -Strawberry Blonde
    -Tenebrous India Black Rye

Tonight (8/6) you can catch them on tap at both Chucks Hop Shops, Beer Authority and Noble Fir; Thursday at the Yard. Next week there are events at Collective Woodinville, Masonry, Pine Box, Malt and Vine and The Parkway Tavern.

I've seen the cans around town and Beer Junction had Vertex on tap list. Always nice to see another option.

There sours have been amongst the standouts at the last two GABFs, and no lines!

Destihl has been a well kept secret in the midwest for a long time now - they have been a knockout at the (undebatable) greatest beer fest in all of the land, the Great Taste of the Midwest. Unfortunately, their standard lineup and the stuff thats surfacing around here isn't all that special. I was really confused when I saw their cans in Bottleworks. I don't see this going well, which is a bummer.

Hoperation Overload is the strangest tasting IPA I've ever had. Not recommended.

Agreed. I've loved their sours when I've had the chance to try them previously & I was excited to see them in the market, but I didn't enjoy any of the Berliner Weisse variants I tried, and that Hoperation Overload is just a mess. Did they just send us all the stuff IL doesn't want?

Last week, Collin's Pub had a blueberry berliner weisse from Destihl that was fantastic. I had never heard of them before then, but i'm always down for a berliner weisse

really dig the single, personally. Spicy and dry with a zippy citrus thing. Sour Strawberry sounds so good.

but the strawberry sour is a $230 1/6bbl, which is $40 more than Consecration, for comparison...

I was at The Cave in Kirkland this weekend and picked up a four-pack of both Here Gose Nothing and their ClockWeisse Berliner Weisse. The latter wasn't bad, but a little sweeter and cloudier than I'd prefer in a gose. I was very impressed with the Berliner Weisse, though. I thought it was a damn good take on the style and will pick up more the next time I see it.

Any word on which other two sours they are canning (assuming the aforementioned pair are two of the four, with "Sour" in big letters on the front of the cans)?

Our WA distributor just brought in all of the bottle that we had allocated them, which is why you're finally seeing more of our diverse portfolio. One correction though, Dosvidanya isn't a sour.

There are four canned releases in the Wild Sour Series:

Here Gose Nothin' - year round
    Flanders Red - winter seasonal
    Counter ClockWeisse - spring seasonal
Lynnbrook Raspberry Berliner - summer seasonal

Other releases in the series are draft only, with the exception of a one-time bottle release a few months ago of Adambier.

Glad to hear you're enjoying them!
    Cheers!

The strawberry sour is a part of our Saint Dekkera barrel-aged Reserve Sours. They spend a year or more going through a secondary fermentation and aging in oak barrels. Each bottle is hand-numbered and wased, perfect for cellaring. These sours are made in a much smaller quantity than the Wild Sour Series, which isn't barrel-aged, hence the higher price point for this brand.

Thanks for the clarification on the seasonality of some of the brews. I was really hoping to try the red so I was bummed when it wasn't arriving along with the Gose and ClockWeisse.

    Cheers!
