Do you even DLD, bro? GLAZZWHALEZ!!!1!

Serious response: People flip the glassware for beer/profit. People not at DLD want them and pay a premium. Or they get added to personal "collections" or something.

Why? Who knows. People like souvenirs. Why do people have rooms full of sports memorabilia or vintage Pabst signs or whatever? The collector instinct in us is stupid strong. The glassware is limited. So, people must have it.

Full disclosure: I bought a pair of the silver mini-snifters on DMC's site day after DLD.

I'm bring my last two to share in the morning. Can't wait to get rid of them. Opened one right away after DLD last year and drain poured it. Another at a tasting and no one liked it and we ended up drain pouring that.

Glasses (tasters, coffee cups) will likely be on their site after DLD if they do it like last year. Of course you'll have to settle for the gold lettering instead of silver. I heard beer tastes much better out of silver lettered glassware but can't confirm. I skipped the line last year in favor of enjoying myself and bought a gold one the next day online. Been collecting dust every since.

I like to collect glasses. I don't buy all the ones I want, but if it's from an event I'm partial to, I'd buy/keep it.

I don't know that I'd stand in line at DLD for an hour to get the Dark Matter glassware, but I'm also not ruling it out.

Disclosure Two: I was in that line to get snifters. They looked cool and I didn't actually own any mini-snifters. So, figured why not. Totally get the collecting glasses part.

After 20 minutes and realizing I was moving backwards in line due to cutting, I decided I didn't want them that much and just got some coffee instead.

I bought one of those too, no line, no neck beards. It 1) has never had a drop of beer in it and 2) is currently used by my girlfriend as a pen holder.

If someone wouldn't mind showing a pic of the envelope the tickets come in if they have gotten them already, I'd appreciate it. My wife has the key to our mailbox and I want her to know what they look like, just in case!

Oh UPS? Ok thanks, so it isn't coming regular mail, wasn't aware of that. Did you get a tracking number in your email as well?

Probably...I honestly wasn't even anticipating it arriving today. Went home on my lunch break and the envelope was laying at my front door.

Considering I live in an apartment complex I'm always nervous about packages being left at my door. But yea, definitely a nice surprise. Wasn't expecting a lanyard and heard metal shaking around so I had no idea what it was. Label was torn up and couldn't see where it came from.

We were able to pick UPS or USPS at checkout correct? So not everyone will receive via UPS. (Or am I getting confused with Lollapalooza tickets I bought recently where we were able to choose between the two?)

I would assume the general admission tickets are being printed on toilet paper, then.

    Bah...

My receipt from when the tickets were purchased says Express Delivery for $8.90...it doesn't specify which mail courier will be used.

Which is typically recycled paper. Confirmed that dark lord day is a green day. Therefore wax color is green this year

Any Illinoisians receive the tickets regular mail yet?

Mine get used on a fairly regular basis. Mostly for bourbon.

Ugh, you drink that first-use stuff? You know that "bourbon" is just to flavor the barrels so that you can put beers in them, right?

I think people that are now receiving them opted to have their tickets shipped via UPS. I'm guessing everyone that chose snail mail (me included) will see the tickets some time next week?
