I have a three day party/family get together coming up at the beginning of April. We generally get four or five sixtels. I like to keep it lighter and lower ABV but some bigger ipa might be ok. Right now I have a NightShift Whirlpool and Wormtown Be Hoppy lined up. Was also thinking Jack Abby Hopstitution OIL if I can get one. What else would be on your list for MA distro that I can actually obtain within a month. I might drive to NH or ME if something really cool is there.
If I was headed to Maine in an effort to bring back two regular/often/sometimes available kegs, I'd be extremely happy with a Bissell Brothers "The Substance" and a Oxbow "Farmhouse Pale Ale" (FPA) sixtels. Otherwise, the previously mentioned Maine Beer Company "MO" would be pretty awesome too. I'd say call ahead up to the breweries for details/distribution OR just call direct to Tully's in Wells or Bier Cellar in Portland
+1 Bier Cellar in Portland has been advertising on their instagram that they have a few Substance Kegs for sale.
Mmmmm, Sunshine Pils. Is it out yet? If not, how about one of the Idle Hands German style lagers (Klara, Heidi, or my favorite, Adelais)? I heard they are selling kegs now.
Cans of Sunshine Pils have been around CT for 2 weeks now, my preference over Nooner. Not familiar with Idle Hands but any German lager gets my vote! Edit: Based on my last comment, will add Sixpoint The Crisp as an option.
I'd go for JA Smoke and Dagger to offer something truly unique. Harpoon kegs are also pretty easy to come by, and cheaper than most.
Berkshire Steel Rail is always good for parties. Tasty, approachable, always fresh, somewhat low ABV & readily available at most places that sell kegs.
Found a six pack of fresh Sunshine Pils (bottled 3/19/15) on my way home last night. What a great beer, and only 4.5%abv! Now patiently waiting for the 12-packs of cans to arrive.
