I know this from the Stout BIF:

1. BIFs are fun,and the people involved foster a community of generosity and one-upsmanship in an awesome way
2. I love sharing the awesome beers of the Charlotte beer scene
3. As a 10 year DC resident who relocated to Charlotte a few years back, I can straddle the Mason Dixon line and turn heel at any moment.

 

@Dicers, our most recent applicant, is by no means a newbie, but it is true that our ranks have grown recently; truly 'new' people generally have someone vouch for them, but I recognize you from Stout IV.

It is requested of new folk that they read up on some thread history to get a feel for what we're all about here, and while it is by NO means required, it is customary for new members to offer up a LIF as a part of introducing themselves.

Southwest here. Then again born and raised in the great state of Indiana... Hard to pick a side. I guess based on the extreme hospitality I've gotten from them good ole boys in the south, (@Devman171 and @valrxman ) I'll go ahead and declare with the south. Am I required to change my profile pic?

Since you aren't from Mass, no. Lottery It Forward, ie a giveaway. The terms of the LIF, if you do one, are totally up to you, but generally it goes along with something about you. To use a couple recent examples, I just put one up recently where everyone guessed the date/time my wife gives birth (she's due next week); and just today one was offered where we're guessing the time of @mkhartnett's 10-mile race.
