@gansettbeer : so you're confirming that the bock wasn't produced this year..? :slight_frown:

Unfortunately so. Like I said, we do have plans to bring it back, but that is really contingent on when the new brewery comes into focus. More soon!

Solid responses, would have been easy to get defensive and ornery.

I didn't like the Lovecraft Honey Ale at all so killing the Bock and Cream Ale so you could make it is disappointing to here. I have no evidence to support this but the Cream Ale probably never sold well. Im sure the Bock sold better. Been around longer and sexier looking can plus BOCK is catchier to the eye.

The Cream Ale was solid imo, look forward to seeing it again at some point. Also loved the Bock, was probably thier best beer.

The Cream Ale was solid I agree but I am skeptical that it sold well.

I didn't like the Honey Ale either so I'm also pretty disappointed to hear beers are being retired because of this series. Maybe the next ones will be decent.

While we've got you, how about 5 litre mini-kegs of the Bohemian Pils?

Considering it took you a full paragraph to explain it, I think that might be a good idea.

Boh Pils is Gansett's true summer beer, IMO. Also Cream Ale was a damn fine beer. Super clean and refreshing!

To the op, this beer used to have a small hop bite to it and for the last few years (including this year) that's been absent. Yeah I know its possible my palate just changed and got used to hoppier beers but I agree this beer doesn't taste like it used to.

Since 'Gansett has been scrapping beers from their lineup the last year or so, how about scrap the summer next year and take a stab at a well made Vienna Lager?

While I like the idea, I think from a marketing perspective they have a can labeled "Summer Beer".

Edit: "have to have a can labeled Summer"

Is the Bohemia Pils still available?

I picked up some Boh Pils. I think I may have gotten last years batch. No "ABC" coding. Seems like a straight Julian dating. Can't recall numbers off the top of my head now. May be something like "2414" no sure. I will check later. But the can has a blue background label. I thought it used to be yellow. I bought it because I thought it was a new batch. My fault for not paying attention. I thought it tasted good. It could have been crisp. But its bugging thinking I am drinkg a 6mo old beer. I know it probably doesn't matter much for a Pils. But still makes me wonder. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't sweat a 6 month old can of pils, especially bargain priced one. That being said, I'm bummed it's gone. Guess I'll be spending my beach time with the Summer Ale.

Agreed not too worried. They will serve their purpose as a lawnmower beer.
