LOL. In Metro Detroit all the stores that were lucky enough to get any Vanilla Rye got only 2 bottles. Some stores may have gotten more but I don't imagine it was even a full case. That's the ONLY bad part about having a really competetive market in MI. Some breweries won't waste their time trying to amp it up here if they're not from here. But you won't hear me complaining (except for with BCBS).

One could make an argument that sending a lot into a competitors backyard would be a good move if you are confident about your product. I know there are a "crap load" of competitors but dumping a bunch of BCBS in Founders backyard or vice versus may be considered smart for market share. The more people that try it and like it are likely to try something else from the same brewery which takes sales and share from a "competitor".

I may be over thinking this....

Was just in Astoria Queens, NY and saw a couple of 4 packs of 2014 BCBS on the shelf

I think you're just thinking of a way for us to get more BCBS.

    I wouldn't have a problem with this!

BCBS is still on shelves in some stores in MA. KBS is sold 1-2 bottles at a time. Can't even get a 4 pack. That said, BCBS is better, by quite a bit.

BCBS I could get a case a week later, KBS was pretty much all 1 or 2 at a time. Coffee is harder to get than KBS I would say BCBBW is about on par with KBS. I also think BCBS is a lot better too...

I know that living 10 minutes from Founders skews my opinion here, but man, a case of KBS was almost too easy to get this year. I had to scramble for BCBS around here in November (part of that is due to a messed up distributor pissing contest in Kent County, where AB favors one distributor (West Side), but the other (Alliance) has always had Goose for the county, so they get shit on for their allocations. THANKS OBAMA) I'm pretty jealous of you guys who have it just sitting around on shelves. But, I suppose the grass is always greener.

In SE MI here and I wish it was easier to find KBS than it is. The fact that I can't yield a four pack from a single store trip is a bit disheartening (more so when paired with the fact that they want to expand their footprint instead of focusing on increasing supply for the current demand).

I was in Traverse City, MI the other week with work and dropped in 7 Monks Taproom and they had BCBCS on tap. Perhaps BC is a regional rarity within the state...

We dont even have Founders distro in WA and BCBS sells out in hours on Black Friday when it gets here - so, realistically, neither?

This thread should be called "which is easier to get, apples or oranges"?

The C-Town on 28th Ave and 41st Street still had 4-5 cases when I was last there three weeks ago. Priced at 24.99/4 I believe.

As for the topic... BCBS by a mile here in NYC. Plenty of stores still have cases upon cases left over, and will likely continue to have them left over. A local bottle shop in my neighborhood prices regular BCBS at 8.39/bottle and just sits on it all year, then soon as next years batch shows up, the previous year get kicked up to 13+/bottle. It explains why it lasts so long, but I feel bad for the people who routinely shop there, overpriced bottles and out of code beer everywhere.

Meanwhile, I have only seen KBS in person once, and that was at the same overpriced bottle shop, where they had 12 bottles and are charging 23.99 PER BOTTLE.

I live in Chicago area and it was much easier to get KBS over bcbs. And I don't see it anywhere around at all. I have quite a bit of KBS and I was just looking in the ISO/FT forums to trade some and like nobody is looking so I kinda feel it was easier to get. Maybe I'm wrong

If you live in CT, and go out looking for BCBS and KBS upon release, BCBS is definitely the easier find. There is significantly less KBS sent to this market. This year, I bought BCBS until I had as much as I wanted. With KBS, I bought until I could no longer find it, which was within a few days of the release.

I had to vote for BCBS, but they are pretty similar. I had to wait in line for about 3 minutes to get my 4-pack of KBS. I didn't have to wait in line at all for my BCBS, but I was limited to 2 bottles. However, I have been given 6 more bottles of BCBS and 2 bottles of BCBBW from work since then. It just sits around and gets slowly handed out as kind of a gold-star for a job well done.

Kbs is quite difficult to get here. Most places if they got any at all only got one case, hence 1-2 bottle limits. BCBS doesn't flow like water, but I can usually manage a few 4 pks with some planning. There's no planning with Kbs if your not there when it's released your not going to get any. BC Coffee is never around, I've never seen it locally, and I had to trade my best beers for some Coffee in volume. Hard to get - Bc coffee>Kbs>Bcbs.

Pure dick move by in-bev distributing things in this fashion. I prefer BCBS but will never bother with them again because of their supply and demand stupidity.
