At the release yesterday, up until about 2:00? No. I'm sure plenty of Troy's friends have tasted it, and I know a few bottles have been opened before (last release?).

I was speaking about what was widely available at the release yesterday. Since a question was asked about The Cut bottles being opened/sold yesterday, I just clarified what took place at the release.

Cherry Cut at $12 a pour puts it at a $36 bottle..... :grimacing:

Troy announced that $36 would be the price for both versions of The Cut when it's released. It sounds high, but it required much more fruit than fruit stand, longer aging in barrels, etc. Having tasted it myself, I'd recommend you try it before you judge the price.

The release went great. The advanced oak theory was phenomenal, probably the pick of the litter for me. Unfortunately we left at 1:00 which seems to be right before the time they broke out the cut cherry...

Pretty sure he said The Cut: Cherry was in the bottle for 2 weeks at the release.

Whatever it was it was fantastic. On a different level than Cherry Fruit stand even though the latest release of Cherry FS was damn good too.

I'd guess around 10-15 or so. Probably closer to 10 though.

I went this weekend too. Really nice spot. The Cherry and the Advanced Oak Theory were great.

I scored an East Bank magnum. Probably going to hold onto this one for awhile.

I have the same as you (with the first one actually at 5/30/14). Don't think I've seen any new saison in a while, will ask a buddy to check the local stores in GWS to see if the batch on shelves is indeed the 1/7/15 one.

New batch of Saison should be out at the next (May) release, according to Troy at the last release.

Is there anything available right now in stores up the mountain?

    Who's excite for May Release

"The Cut: Balaton Cherry - $36 - Limit 1 per person

The Cut series is Oak Theory aged on whole CO fruit, more than twice the amount of Fruit Stand. The Cut: Balaton Cherry is 2 barrels of Oak Theory selected for their unique funk profile and aged for over a month on 2.5 pounds of hand-picked (by Troy) Balaton sour cherries from Hotchkiss, CO. We've been patiently holding onto these cherries since July last year, just waiting for the perfect barrels to present themselves. We were very tempted to use them in Fruit Stand, but held off and waited for Oak Theory to come to fruition. We're glad we did! This is the best beer Troy has ever made, hands down. "

Was at Coopers in Glenwood yesterday on my way back from Moab and they had some East Bank and plenty of Oak Theory.

4 Dogs also has Oak Theory, Saison, and East Bank. Will prob stick around a bit longer than Coopers due to the longer drive south.
