Yep just look for the tent on the Progress Ave side where the line is formed. Since we'll be there pretty early, we'll probably be in the front half. Glad to pour you some Pliny!

 

Where is there to park around there? This is my first DLD lol

 

Across Calumet Ave at the park. Last year it was 20 bucks. The closest you'll get to the event unless you're there super early.

 

There's actually several lots to park in closer to the event. Every year we Park at the park, and during the walk to get in line realize we should've parked closer!

 

I want to say, by the time I got there last year around 1:00, it appeared that the whole industrial park was closed off, there were traffic officers blocking people from turning in unless you were going to the hospital.

 

Two of us will attempt to make your event. We'll have some fresh Second Fiddle amongst others. What time do we need to show up to have a legitimate shot at parking in that vicinity (Progress Avenue)?

 

You probably want to park in the next 15 to 20 minutes

 

What kind of beers other than "whales" would be adequate to bring to DLD?

Living in Canada most of our beer doesn't live up to whale status in the U.S. and I have no American whales in the cellar.

I have a couple bottles of Westy 12, a few of these: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1141/10325/ and these http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/194/54546/ kicking around too, both of which can compete with any American stout, but just aren't as well known.

Just wondering if during the bottle shares you'll get laughed out of the place if you don't show up with cases of Abraxas, Double Sunshine, and Fou' Foune.

I'm bringing 5 bombers. There are three in my group with each bringing similar. Show up with an amount that you will feel comfortable with. There will be plenty of people willing to share.

 

I'll be sure to bring over some hop venom to share!

 

I think I have a 12 pack of barrel aged beers to bring for now. I'd like to land a few more before DLD.
