Went to an Alpine/Green Flash event in Olympia - tried the Nelson, Duet and Hoppy Birthday. Now I have tried the Nelson and Duet in bombers a few years back and they were excellent. The ones on tap were very boring and nothing I would be interested in buying. My favorite of those 3 was the Hoppy Birthday - had the most pronounced hop flavor. Ended the night with a Boneyard RPM and it blew all the others away. Very disappointed in the new Green Flash/Alpine brews.

I tried Duet, Nelson, and Hoppy Birthday a couple nights ago. Liked Duet and Hoppy Birthday, wasn't impressed with Nelson. sat at a different local bar last night and drilled 4 RPMs. Musta been a really fresh keg, cuz that stuff just kept sliding down my throat. It'll be a nice option having the SDAlpine stuff around, but they probably won't be brews I seek out.

Sounds like Alpine (at least the stuff produced by GF and brought up here) is not on the same level as our local favorites...well, dont let anyone from anywhere outside the PNW find out.

I thought Hoppy Birthday was excellent.

RPM has become too malty recently. Not sure what's up.

I had my first RPM in quite a long time last night at Watershed. It was as good as I remember it being at its best. Great aroma and great crisp flavor. Not too malty at all. I don't know why I even ordered one as I too remember it being not only too malty but the batches seem to have too much variation.

Duet and Nelson are generally $5.50, Pure Hoppiness is $8 as of the last time I was there. There was a time Duet was $4/22 oz.
