Get some Zombie Dust. Half the price of R2H56.

Back to the OP - anything not sold in your local stores is "hard to get" imo as it requires trading.

If you mean annoying, overhyped, rare once per year releases that breweries do to aggravate beer fans - Pliny the Younger and Kern Citra. Alpines Exponential Hoppiness appears 2x a year generally.

I would stick with year round, obtainable IPA's. They reward you year round and don't require you to play games to drink a few ounces. I remember my first sip of Pliny the Younger: " That's it? Pffff.... "

And given the location of this thread are you ISO and offering anything? I have access to head hunter and white rajah if you want to try some rare to you IPAs (assuming you don't live in Ohio).

Good People Snake Handler is rare to me because it's not distributed here. Somebody gave me a super fresh can at a beer event earlier this year, and I thought it was phenomenal. Exponential Hoppiness is the only other one that I think I'll bother to really try to trade for anymore, assuming that they continue bombers. That beer is something else. Otherwise, I brew my own hoppy beers.

Edit: oh, and Hill Farmstead...they produce some hop justice and glory.

Are there still bottles of Head Hunter around? I checked a couple spots the last few days and struck out.

Whenever I think about opening a bottle of Double Black to try and approach the Shogo throne, he will nonchalantly post something like this and remind me that, regardless of boltons, an Integra GSR cannot approach a GTR.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them do it again, but definitely not a whenever they have it thing as it was on last week and it wasn't put in growlers.

Aroma Coma - drake's definitely doesn't brew this one enough
Knuckle Sandwich - bootlegger's has only put out one small batch this year.
Exponential Hoppiness - Savage beast of a IIPA/IIIPA - and you can add any number of excellent IPAs from Alpine like Bad Boy, Hoppy Birthday, Pure Hoppiness (none of which I think are bottled)

I wish Aroma Coma was brewed year round....one of my favorites from Drakes. Good thing is, this year's batch is going to be larger than last year's. The one that will be a smaller batch with a smaller distribution, is going to be their Aroma Prieta, which will be released the same day as Aroma Coma...July 28th.

Pure Hoppiness is bottled, but does sell out quick.

Pure Hoppiness, Duet, Nelson, all good, all bottled.
Oh, I found an Expo Hop in the back of my beer fridge from the January 27th release. I wonder what that will taste like.

I have been able to pick up some Heady Topper, Ghandi Bot, Zombie Dust and Dread Naught in trades. Zombie Dust and Heady Topper seem to have the biggest draw here.

My own opinion is the Dreadnaught is simply spectacular, and the Ghandi Bot was better than either the ZD or HT. But as will all beers, it's what you like yourself.

I can't recommend Dreadnaught and Ghandi Bot enough though

Get some Heady Topper and Zombie Dust. Best I've had for the money. Hill Farmstead IPAs are all good, literally, all of them. I've had 9-10 HF beers and I can't see how Shaun could brew a non-phenomenal beer. Also, my next trade will be for Alpine.

The rarest IPA is easy to find. Locate the new microbrewery in your area, ask for an IPA, drink it. Promise it'll be rare. You'll be, like, the third person ever to check into it on untappd. Or! Better yet! Learn to Homebrew!

I know, I know, some will argue that the beer won't taste good unless it's highly sought and hard to get... Eff those pretentious aholes. Buy local!
