Beachwood BBQ Beer Releases Thread

Any idea what happened to Tart Simpson? Seems it has disappeared from the website.

 

Just got back from Beachwood Long Beach. Citraholic and LBC IPA are done. Amalgamator is on. seems they didn't update the site tap list til after I left my hotel.

And I don't care what any of you say....The BBQ Chicken Nachos were delicious as hell. And so were the chips.

 

Damnit! I'm going to get my growler filled tomorrow.

 

Amalgamator is one of their best IPAs if not THE best, hard to say with so many amazing hoppy beers.

Amalgamator! ...Right on! Will be there for dinner and pours of Amalgamator n beyond, getting ready for WOP gig at Harvelle's this evening. Amalgamator is one of BW's most amazing IPA's period. You got Melrose, Thrillseeker, CitraHolic, DJ and the Hop IPA series, but the Amalgamator for me is my favorite from BWBBQnB.

Melrose and Udder Love double bottle release on 4/28

 

This batch of Amalgamator is spot on. And don't sleep on Street 3, Block 2...its basically a clone of Row 2, Hill 56.

 

I walked out of there Thursday night with a Street 3 growler. Didn't know Amalgamator was gonna be on and I almost changed my mind. I did have some at least. Hoping to get bottles in May.

 

Maybe they are trying to revamp it, as the last batch I had tasted like major ass. Which isn't the worst thing in the world since I like funky beers, but that much funk is not called for in the style.

Brewing to style isn't the most important thing in the world so if they called it a berliner weisse-ass then it'd be spot on.

 

Currently eating the nachos. They must not like the rest of ya'll because these chips are killin it

 

I wonder what you would say if you had been around in the days when they had good chips...

 

It'll probably be something like. . . ."Damn Ya'll! These is some mighty fine chips in these nachos"

 

I was there last night and had Pole Position for the first time. Can't believe this beer isn't hyped more. It's amazing

 

It's amazing with all the great IPA's (& beers) that comes out of BW. And still not many people has heard of or been to Beachwood. Even the locals.

David, you and I go way way back with BW,both in SB and LB. However I have to disagree with you on this. It wasn't that long ago at all, maybe a year or so that you could drop in and pick up bottles of the most recently released beer days after it was bottled, not now. I was at BW SB having dinner with friends when Thrillseeker was last released, after dinner I asked for a couple bottles to go, our server looked at me like I was crazy, " did you call and reserve any " I was blown away, Kyle walked by and looked at me and said it was gone in a matter of hours, most people buying 6-11 bottles he said, and this was the day it was released. Now I know SB doesn't get as much as LB but the hype and demand for BW IMHO has changed 360 degrees in the last couple years. I'm happy for them, I still buy their amazing IPAs and Pales and the folks are great. Sadly though our little BW is now on the radar like RR, Alpine, and Kern, and rightfully so. Finally, have you seen the insane lines lately for special events, that wasn't happening a couple years ago. Again, I'm stoked for them and just hope they can keep up with the demand as they are definitely one of the best breweries in the country and luckily for us, in our backyards.
