I did not think there was a potential for FFF to be hated any more than they are. If people get screwed on tix due to messed up postage it will be a fail of monstrous proportion.

The crazy part is that somehow, after more than a decade of Dark Lord, they still can't seem to figure out how to make the event run smoothly.

Dark Lord Day ran pretty smoothly last year, at least in my estimation.

How long was the average wait in a line?

Wait for what? Last year I had Group A, and the line moved too fast! Had DLD in hand and in the trunk of our car by 11:00. Slow it down, FFF - this shit is going too smooth! Had several bottles in the back pack for the line share, and barely got through one!

There were massive lines for the Necromancer (passed on that shitshow) and long lines for carry out FFFs beer (wonder why they were so long, since FFFs brews beer no one thinks is any good), but the guest taps weren't bad in my opinion, but I guess that depends on what you were hoping to get.

All in all - FFFs works every year to make the event better. It will never be enough for everyone, especially for some like NewGlarusFan, but last year it was quite enjoyable.

I don't remember waiting in any lines. I do remember sharing many good beers while in line though.....

2 years ago? 3 hours. Last year? 30 minutes. Like @YoungLad said, the lines flew. I spilled beer because I was running so fast through the line.

Fair enough then. I've read stories of guys who waited in lines for an hour or more last year, but as long as the guest tap lines and the Dark Lord bottle lines move well it's all good.

Oh and the bathroom lines lol.

Three hours? Jesus. Glad I missed that.

I waited maybe 25 minutes in a line for FFF beer. There were probably 50 people in front of me.

I waited about the same for a Doner Kabob, probably behind 20 people.

I was one of the first people in the Group D Dark Lord Line, and it was probably roughly an hour.

The rest of my time was spent sharing beers, tracking down a few trades, and watching the bands.

Given how many people were present, I didn't find these times to be at all excessive. I shared pours of beer and was given pours in all lines I waited in. Given how many people were there, it's about as smooth as I figured it would go. No issues with the times at all.

I seem to remember someone posting that the later groups moved slower last year, but I can't vouch for that. But, an hour in line is nothing compared to DLD prior to the ticketed event, where there were two lines for DL - one coming from the south, and one coming from the north, then merging into one line with no direction from anyone at FFFs. All day affairs, where progress was measured in inches.

And then, the porta-johns were located against the wall of the brewery, right near the entrance to where the line for DL was supposed to go. What a shit show, pun intended.

Whoa, how could you wait an hour if you were so close to the front? Was the previous group still going?

Yup. I've never brought the likes of Budmilloors to DLD--especially to share, but I see plenty of people drinking it during the day. The Mrs's youngest son drank Coors Light and Amstel Light the first 2 yrs we went to DLD.

Yes. They filed us in right behind the end of Group C. If I'm not mistaken, it may have been 30-45 minutes ahead of the scheduled start time for the group D sale.

Okay, well that's not bad at all. Hopefully it moves this well or better this year.
