This must be the first step for crowlers on giving you less beer for the same money. :slight_frown:

The story has been updated, it is apparently a 750ml can.

Why would you want less beer? I don't understand.

If I could buy small cans of Live Oak's Hefe I would be all over that for summertime. For someone like them or for Boneyard's IPAs, smaller format Crowlers would kill it.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to make this point lol. You guys all realize the main attraction of crowler = draft beer that doesn't get canned/bottled and not the vessel size, right? Right?!

And I'll add that I love 750 mL bottles/crowlers/growlers/whatever. I can crush a 750 mL of IPA at pretty much any given moment. I more often share 32 ounce growlers.

I agree with HopVol. Less beer is not better.

My only issue with this is the smaller growler fill, usually the more you are paying per ounce, so I'm not a fan until the prices are the same per ounce, otherwise I'll be sticking with my growlers and enjoying a 5 pack +4 oz.

Why 750 ml? Ill tell you why!

The reason i think we are seeing another size of crowler is because in minnesota at least, the state law only allows 64 oz growlers and 750 ml containers to be sold directly from the brewery. that means the 32 oz crowler size that was first released isnt allowed for sale in Minnesota. The article was about Sociable Cider Werks, which is a minnesota cider brewery. Another minnesota brewery is also about to release the crowler in 750 ml size. They are called Sisyphus Brewing co.
I think we (Junkyard Brewing Co) will be one of the next breweries to roll out the 750 crowler.

Just put everything in 16oz cans and be done with it.

    Why would anyone want a 750 over a 32oz?? With the 750, I get 1 nice pour, 32oz I get 2 nice pours.

Did anyone here read the article? The reason stated was primarily for big beers that are also a bit on the expensive side. This gives folks the opportunity to try it at a lower price point. I know if I were to get a 32 oz. Crowler of say, BCBS or Surly Darkness I would not be able to drink it all at once and it would most likely go flat before I finished it. I like these for the same reason I like 32 Growlers and Crowlers. I can finish it off when I open it. Just my 2 cents but I do see the point and the reasoning behind it.

Only time for one pour and no cooler. It happens. To each their own.

I'm still waiting for 12oz crowler fills. I think 12oz is the perfect serving size, and I could grab 6 different 12ozers to the river, hiking, whatever. I'm still waiting, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah that's the only thing I'm thinking on this. But hey, if those 6.6 less oz mean that much to you, you'll pay an upcharge for that extra variety of size.
