Got offered $350 for BVDLin 2013 right when I walked out of the warehouse. Never had it before so I turned it down but if it happened again I would gladly hand my $50 bottle over for $350

Man, you guys must love those barrel aged variants.

    150 and I'd sell mine.

I think I'd rather trade it for a hundred dollars worth of other less whale-ish beers than straight up sell it for cash but I guess $300 would convince we otherwise. If people actually do that its ape-shit crazy. I traded mine last year to a trade partner for some nice bottles from his cellar. Nothing crazy, everyone was happy.

Does anyone know if once you're in the door- will your ID be checked again when in your group line?

For example-- my group of 4 has 2 group B tickets and 2 group C tickets. My name is on the C tickets but I would like to go with my friend who bought group B and give the 2 friends who didn't buy tickets the C tickets.

They didn't check IDs last year. Could change this year but I doubt it.

I was offered $350 last year. My wife jokingly countered with $500. No joke, the two guys looked at each other in contemplation.

Theres been a bunch of rumors floating around that the DL variants are going to be $100 this year. Personally, I think that's all it is, rumors. Everyone seems to have "inside information". Even though they upped the ticket cost and the bottle cost, I can't see them doubling the cost of a variant in a year. Any one else heard this?

Will be selling scratch offs if that's the case. I doubt this happens though.

In the past DL variants were $50?

I would be absolutely stunned if they were $100. At that price they would be promoting reselling of the beer and golden tickets. If I had to guess what the price will be, I'd say $60.

Do they? Cause I haven't seen much evidence of that. Prices were held at their low point for years despite the hype train driving up demand. Only when they expanded the event did things become more expensive, as you would expect.

I usually go with $300. If you can buy 4 bottles at $20 each, you're at $80 + $50 for the BA and you're at $130.00. Account for $50.00 in guest taps, usually buy a shirt or some glassware and food. After adding that up, I should probably leave with $80-100 in cash but I think my money goes to the place where my missing socks hang out.

I am considering doing this this year, selling mine that is. of course if I win.

Also tickets arrived with no issue yesterday. I had to text the girl to check, how dare she not text me as soon as they arrived lol

So let's recap the current rumor mill:
    • Your tickets aren't coming.
    • If your tickets are coming, you're going to need to cover postage on them to the tune of $2.00 (sometimes less).
    • The Resolution Tent line will be approximately 1,000 people long, and will require its own separate bottle share from the entry line.
    • Dark Lord Variants are $100.
    • Instead of a Dark Lord Variant, you have the ability to buy a Cantillon Fou Fene for $100.
    • Any variant purchased on-site may not leave the premises sealed. You must drink your variant on-site. Doming is recommended.
    • Due to long range weather forecasts predicting rain, they have lifted the nudity requirement for entry, but only for tops. You may not wear pants to Dark Lord Day regardless of the weather.
I think that about covers it?

1 guy that's going in our group this year said he'd pay $200 for a BVDL if someone was willing to sell him one (not sure if he's willing to buy any other variants). I'll gladly sell off my DL variant to any willing customers, if I win the scratch off of course.
Please explain how they are "milking" this event?

I think you missed the rumor of them not selling Dark Lord at all.
