What beer are you drinking now? #908

Happy Thirsty Thursday, BAs! I picked up a bomber of the latest iteration of Enjoy By, and am just now getting around to it. Glad I did; it's as delicious as always!


Had to burn off some calories.

Ugh, just got caught up on camera gate from the 1st page, and I have to say: I am thoroughly disappointed.

WBAYDN is supposed to be like all of us hanging out at a bar, chatting, sharing, and drinking. Sharing a picture (and a picture is not required!) of what we're drinking now. Of course it might not be what you're drinking this exact second; this is the internet, not real life. But no one expects something from last night or even days ago without clarification.

Just like at the bar, hey, it's OK to boast a little! "Yeah, I'm drinking a Fresh Slice now, and it's pretty good. But do you know what I had last night? Dark Lord, man! Yeah, it was too late to give you a call and tell you how awesome it was, but I figured I'd chat about it now!"

See? No one minds if you want to boast a little, or share a little. That's friendly. No one complains about unrelated pics or music ("I thought it was 'What BEER are you drinking now,' not 'How's the weather now,' AMIRITE?"). But it would be pretty ridiculous to post a picture of the International Space Station, and claim you're freaking on it right now, only to backtrack and say you didn't think astronaut was meant to be taken literally. "Jeez, can't a guy like space? Why does everything have to be taken so literally?"

What I - and many others - don't understand is why anyone would bother to start - or post early in - a WBAYDN thread without any disclosure that it itsn't at all what they're drinking now. Or, worse, actually lying about it. "Hey, guys; just hanging out, drinking a Darkness. No big deal. You, umm, you probably wouldn't know it, though; it was brewed at another school. In Canada."

If you want to start a thread just to boast about a beer you had recently, then do so. Start a thread. Title it: "Damn, just had KBS, and it was awesome!" or something like that. There are many threads on BA; not just WBAYDN and NBS.

Rant over. And just to reiterate: this is the beer I opened 30 minutes ago, then played some drums, posted on BA, and am even still drinking now.
