Dark Lord Day (DLD) 2015

I was wondering when this thread was going to turn into people celebrating or cursing the 10 day forecast.

Just so everyone knows, any weather forecast over 3 days is complete BS.

 

Any truth to this or trolling? never heard of an issue with their growlers

 

I believe they stopped filling growlers a few years ago. Truth, no trolling.

 

For a time, they sold growlers. In fact, I remember them selling growlers of Dreadnaught or whatever..(like for $40 bucks I want to say). But, they would never "refill" a growler. You basically bought the glass, and then it was dead to FFFs. This was before they constructed the sales kiosk.

Then, they did install a very nice growler fill station in the sales kiosk, but then the growlers that they were selling were mysteriously exploding post-sale. I recall hearing stories of folks who had a growler explode in the back of their car on the way back to Vermont or wherever. Turns out there was a weakness in the glass in the neck of the growler, and they suspended growler sales, and to my knowledge, never started it up again.

 

Those of you blaming the postage issue on FFF instead ETIX et al obviously have no idea how any business in the world has worked, ever.

 

To be fair, most people (including me) are shit at cleaning growlers properly. If I sold beer, I wouldn't want it tasting like (best case) dish soap or (worst case) month-old dried beer either. And glass exchanges probably suck hardcore to sanitize whatever nasty ass glass people bring in.

And now that kiosk gets busy enough that slowing things down to fill growlers when there's a line out the door.

I love the concept of growlers. I just wish they worked better in practice.

 

I agree with this 100%; I've got 30 growlers in a closet, and will never (well, unless I NEED to) buy another....

 

That's the forecast right now, so I posted about it.

Since the overseer has deemed it irrelevant for discussion, I will post about pancakes.

Rumor: one variant will be a pancake and maple syrup barrel aged variant. Heard it from a reliable source. Take it for what it is worth.

 

I'm curious what time people plan on lining up on Friday for bottle sales. I would hate to line up a couple hours in advance to only find out they didn't have cases of ZD available.

 

Why not just use Italics for sarcasm? I think that would work pretty well.

A reputable source told me there would be no variants this year.

Unless there's a predefined use for italics on the site that I'm not aware of... Or we could always continue guessing what is sarcasm and what is not. That's fun too.

 

I'll be there at 5:30 am. Want to make sure I get at least a case of zombies dust for butt chugging.

 

Two years ago you could get your cases any time until they closed the day before DLD. I hope it doesn't get crazy to get that too now

So, I notified them yesterday that I had not received my tickets yet. The reply was....

So you auto get put into deactivate bin. If I would have known that, I would have waited until Monday to notify them.
