They posted that Miller Pizza Co. across the street will have some BA on tap in case you can't get tickets.

They are limit 1 per person, and non transferable, similar to DLD.

Just wish you could purchase a guest ticket like DLD. I got a ticket but was unable to get one for my wife.

If anyone is looking to trade a BA'd Hunter, let me know. I have Plan Bee Bottles to trade.

The 2 bottles aren't included in the price of the ticket. You get the option to purchase up to 2 bottles. They worded it funny so you kind of have to read carefully. Either way, not worth it imo. I love 18th St. but this price is pretty ridiculous considering you only get a mini snifter and have to purchase everything else. The bottles and drafts are overpriced as well. If this was FFF, people would be ripping them a new asshole.

I know... That's why I said $45+ and not $25. I mean, I guess there are people out there who want a BA Brown ale, and that might drop your initial total to $43+ costs of pours...

Strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

Seems like 18th made a big mistake - trying to host an event highlighting their BA beers. Me thinks they might have been better off not doing anything at all, based on the reaction I'm reading here and on other sites.

If they had simply announced that they were selling BA stuff, with no ticketing, it would have been a massive shitshow, and 18th would have been excoriated.

If they announce it as a ticketed event, then those that weren't able to get tix would not be happy, and 18th would again get excoriated. Add in that people willing to fork over $40 for a DLD ticket, and then shell out $20 / bottle for the DL, don't get having to pay $15 to get in, and then (roughly) $10 / 12 oz. bottle (although on a per ounce basis, 18ths pricing is pretty comparable, direct comparisons to DL notwithstanding, but that's a topic for another thread).

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone here, and not defending 18th St., because when I heard about the plan my initial thought was that it was going to be a logistical nightmare, but just commenting on beer releases in general. Is there a better way to get their beer out to as many people as possible, which is what I assume they were going for, as opposed to putting it into distro, where it would be selectively sold to those in the know?

Another aspect of this that's a little troubling is that you have 2 hours to try and drink a bunch of high ABV BA beers? That seems a bit dangerous. Or you limit yourself to just a few and then the de facto price per glass goes up by $25/number of beers you had ... or $20/number of beers if you want to be generous and take out the price of a glass.

I'll be homer and mention that the upcoming De Garde 2nd Anniversary was, I believe $10 (plus a small service fee) for a glass and three 8 ounce pours and the party is 5ish hours long with MANY killer guest taps / bottles / bottle share ...

I've never had an 18th St. Beer, which is a genuine shame, but these prices are really bumming me out.

I know the new dumb fad is to say "new money" but who the hell else can afford Craft Beer nowadays? $25 entry plus $8+ 12oz bottles? Jeepus Creepus!

You couldn't have convinced me 10 years ago that I'd be back-in-love with variety 12packs and sub-$10 sixers at this point in my life. Bizarre.

I'm surprised so many people are just now complaining about prices. Forget the party, a lot of their bottles and draft beer prices are ridiculous to begin with. Charging 7 bucks for mini snifters of non BA beers, 13 dollar bottle pale ales/15 dollar bottle DIPAs....(not to mention some are "cash only")......I live 15 min away and don't go there that often anymore because its too pricey. At least his draft IPA/DIPAs are usually reasonably priced.

I totally agree. Most of their drafts are very reasonably priced on a daily basis but their bombers and a lot of their 6 packs are way over priced.
