Only ONE of these...?

    Is there a style(s) of beer that you
    can only drink one of at a sitting?

    Mine are:
    Porter
    Stout
    DIPA
    IIPA
    Barleywine
    Quad

    Maybe because of the higher ABV
    and/or the more heartiness of the
    beer that one is enough? I find
    that to be the case and it will
    probably be my last beer of
    the sitting.

    How about you?

    I don't think I've found a style that I can only have one of. The closest thing would be an imperial stout, but it's not unusual to drink 2-3 in a sitting.

    Back when I was drinking much more frequently I could put away a 6 pack of Bigfoot or Storm King and the like and get up for work at 6am no problem. These days if I did that I'd be a-hurtin' for certain.

    Of those you listed, definitely barleywine. Also I agree with @JuicesFlowing , smoked beer is a one and done.

    I like to bounce around at times, so it's never an issue, it's more of a question of ... well how much of it I am getting...

    It's more about quantity at that point :wink:

    If I find I am trouble having more than one beer of any kind of a beer at a sitting, I get up and find another seat.
