Most growlers in Jersey are done this way because it's a law. If it isn't taped it's considered an open container.

I'm sober now and she's still hot. In fact, she's a librarian at a high school, and they call her "the hot librarian." We're in our 40s. So there. /brag

    1. Julian date codes - I don't want to try and decipher your fucking codes assholes, use the standard MM/DD/YYYY or get the fuck out.
    2. No dates on bottles.

i do it on swing top growlers so they don't get caught on something else and open up. also it is added protection in keeping air out of a growler if it is going to sit for a bit

Beer stores that keep rare releases behind the counter (looking at you, Binny's)

And just in general how there is a whole tier of beer that is not accessible to the general public, only to be released to an in-crowd of beer nerds

Same goes for beer trading - obviously not the case with every trade, but so many FT: Mega whale ISO: mega whale

Don't give me too much credit, my man. That's just the way I read it.

That doesn't mean that Lazhal thinks they brew a lot of it. I mean, his post didn't seem to imply that he had any idea of how much BCBS Goose brews a year.

Session IPAs, or less specifically over-saturation of styles in general. Too many breweries trying to keep up with the Jonses rather than innovation

Spell, people, spell...!! BCBS, SN, SA, ST, NG, ASDF, JKL; I would really prefer to not have to read half a thread or god-forbid Google it to figure out what the hell beer you guys are talking about.

    Thanks...

Okay, thanks; I get it now. I thought the tape was on bottles. I think the tape on growlers is pretty universal, but it doesn't always get practiced by many breweries.

That's a good one. Short 'pints' and illegal here in Michigan, but someone has to notice the smaller glass before anything would get done to correct it. So I wonder how many 'pint' glasses go unnoticed.

Julian codes serve a purpose, they are there for efficiency and traceability. They are extremely easy to plug into at system to track the specific day of production. Generally it is much easier to keep sequential non repeating digits and add data such as year and batch run. For example 1500101 would be a simple way for an automated system to code 2015, January 1, batch run 01.

Thank being said it is a pain in the neck to have to find and figure out.

I was talking about bottles. If you look in the "latest haul" thread you'll see traders taping bottle caps. Supposedly it's to reduce leakage but if a beer is going to leak, electrical tape isn't going to stop it.

It makes more sense on growlers although I haven't seen that and it wasn't part of the motivation behind my post.
