I've decided I'll be bringing five stouts for bottle sharing. All have been in my cellar for various amounts of time (the oldest is six years) so hopefully someone will appreciate them.

First post. I've read the whole thread. My current sentiment toward bottle sharing is as Bauerba's:

Is something like Bell's Hopslam even worth bringing? And most of the "good stuff" I drink and have in my possession are things like Permanent Funeral, Dreadnaught, and other FFFs offerings, so that would be silly to bring for sharing at a place where you'll likely be able to taste it anyway…. I'll just have to try and pull something better together before Saturday.

And so begins my 4 day work week which is relatively unproductive considering watching threads, checking the weather, obsessively watching all forms of FFF social media for DLD updates or variant details and trying to catch up on sleep that I know I will not be getting come Friday night.

Let's not forget obsessing about any sneeze or cough that just might turn into a full blown cold by Saturday!! That's what I've been doing all day today.

A cold is going to stop you from going to DLD?

Fuck no but it might ruin my ability to taste/enjoy every beer you kind souls are listing off that you're planning to share.

I think one of the most important things to remember is to bring beers that YOU enjoy, 1st and foremost. You'd be surprised what people appreciate when it's offered to them. And on the same note, don't be a dick if someone offers you something that you deem less worthy. "Have a good time."

Yes, bring what you want. I brought a bunch of stuff last year, and with the lines, you'll likely be the first and foremost one drinking what you bring. I was thankful I brought some "special occasion" beers, and some local session brews. Any time I popped one open, I offered to those around me, and rarely did anyone turn anything down, regardless of what it was. Most people were happy to try anything they hadn't tried before. I drink Hopslam when it's in season every year, but if you were offering, and I had an empty cup, I'd take a pour for sure!

I like this advice a lot mostly because it's my first DLD, too, and I've been fretting a bit about what to bring. I think I have a decent assortment set aside for myself and my little group, but still want to be able to share with anyone and everyone around because it just seems like a great thing to do and like it would make the time spent at the event that much better.

Either way, I'm pretty psyched for next weekend. Tickets finally showed up....yeah festival!

Add a fresh growler of Double Shot. Great Saturday morning beer, being a strong coffee stout and all.

I don't know where you guys are putting all this beer. Riding one of the buses in and i will probably only have room in the backpack cooler for 2-3 bombers and 4-6 cans or so. I guess some of you may have listed what you're bringing for the whole weekend though.

Ok so I've mentioned this a couple times but I figured I'd let everyone know my group's plans for Saturday in case anyone would like to join our bottle share/tailgate and hang out!

My group of 4 will be to 3F by 6am ish. We'll be set up on the Progress Avenue side (I believe considered the south entrance). We'll be easy to spot, I have a 9x7 canopy style tent we'll be putting up along with a large fold out table. We'll probably be in the front half of the line since we're getting there fairly early. I'll be bringing my charcoal kettle, hoping nobody bitches at us about that..if so we'll move that to our parking spot to cook.

We'll have it fired by about 6:30 am and will be cooking up breakfast all morning. Breakfast burritos, sausage, goetta, eggs, etc. We'll have plenty of plasticware and cups for sharing. Everyone is welcome to eat with us until the food runs out, haha.

Here's a rough list of what we'll bringing beer wise.

10 bottles of Pliny (bottled late March, I believe 3/30)
    12 cans of Heady Topper
    '13 & '14 BCBS
    '14 Dark Lord
Lots of Jackie O's BA/Rum barrel Oil of Aphrodite and Dark Apparition - BA Black Maple as well
    Parabola '13 '14
Brew Kettle White Rajah (just won that blind IPA tasting article)
    Not Your Father's Root Beer
    Jai Alai
    RR sours
    Hill Farmstead Anna/Convival
    Local Cincinnati beers

We have group B/C and will take turns going in to get our allotment, so the tailgate should be going all day. We'll also be cooking lunch, burgers, fresh sausage, atomic buffalo turds, etc.

Any and everyone is welcome, hope to see you! I'll have the Carolina Panthers hat on and most likely manning the grill.
