    They are gonna have to buy a ticket so its not like they can start lining up now. Plus, if we are thinking of the same place isnt it normally in the summer?

    Not that I am aware of. This place will do it when the expansion is done and going off how they handle all other major releases, you will need to line up and you will need a ticket but it is still first come, first serve.

    Yeah, a few random places around SF got VRye bottles REALLY late into the game. The distributor was holding onto it for some reason. I hope the trend continues so I don't have to deal with nay Black Fri BS.

    i think two reasons. one... the first round was miss-priced. i found them for $21 ea. & 4pks for $23. after the distributor corrected the wholesale gaffe, 2nd from what i heard they held product so it would appear on the shelf during SF Beer Week events in February.

    It got a little awkward when I made my purchase. The cashier, an older guy who I'm guessing spends much of his day selling cheap singles, simply could not believe that beer could be so expensive. He asked me twice what made is so special, didn't seem to think my answer made sense either time, then as he was ringing it up kept saying a variation of "Whoa!" or "Jesus!" between long pauses.

    ha. that's gotta be the latter in the day or weekend staff? between me & you (because i know nobody else is reading this:slight_smile:) unbelievably - that's gotta be the 4th-5th case of VR they got in that hole in the wall. i put serious dents in the first two + sent locals who had been searching.

    i shared my story before. i went there for a bottle of bourbon back around January - while there i asked: Do you ever get Goose Island stuff. simplistic question. so simplistic, a BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART. one owner says all dryly & sort of annoyed i guess because they're out of what he's about to name: We try to. Every now and again we'll get Honkers & 312... so i say... But no Bourbon County - right?? This guy lights up & says... Oh we have that & gestures me over to the cooler. :astonished::astonished::astonished::astonished::astonished::astonished::astonished::astonished::astonished::astonished: like i'm looking for Honkers over BCBS. unreal!

    Any places in LA? It seems like every place that's been tapping Vanilla Rye's been out in some far off suburb, which is great for folks who live near such towns, but not so great for us LA folk.
