Well, actually, most of the time. Turns out there are far more mass market beer drinkers who also drink craft beer than there are any kinds of craft beer drinkers who have an occasional mass market beer.

(Based on marketing research conducted for BBC and occasionally reported/discussed on this site.)

While I can handle Coronas, for some reason I can't stand it with lime. Even way back when all I drank were macros I didn't like it with lime. To each his own.

When I feel like having a highlife I drink one…lemme guess, you sport a real ironic neck beard and/or drive a prius?

The only thing worse than reverse snobbery is actual snobbery.

Of course I prefer craft to bmc. But if I'm swimming at the creek with my brother and cousin or chowing down on some pizza and wings, there's nothing wrong with having a cold Budweiser IMO.

For the most part, BMC isn't undrinkable. It just tends to be very bland and watery.

I 99.99% of the time only drink craft, as I genuinely do not like the flavors of any of the macro BMC beers. If I'm out a restaurant and all they have is MBC, I'll either drink liquor or not drink alcohol at all. The only time I'll drink a macro BMC beer is if a host offers me one. The polite, "good form" thing to do is gladly accept the generous offer of the beer. I will nurse the hell out of that beer though...

Most craft drinkers don't drink craft 100% of the time. So a lot.

Because I like the taste. Not a good enough reason?

I rarely see that situation any more- there's always Guinness or Bass or something like that. Heck, I'll even take Stella in the right mood. I generally don't enjoy B, M or C (especially their Lite versions), but there are usually other things that will usually hit the spot.

At bars, yes. You're right. But at parties not necessarily. At least not many of the one's I've been to.

Ah- I see now. I thought you meant those types of events in a restaurant, but that doesn't necessarily have to be so.

I am not so much of a craft snob that I won't enjoy a BMC beer from time to time, whether for reasons listed above, or just because I feel like something light and easy. Sure there are almost always great options for light and easy to drink craft beer around, but what's the big deal? If i'm at a baseball game, I've got no interest in hunting down the craft lines. A bud light or coors light or whatever will hit the spot. If I'm at a work or social function and we are sharing pitchers of some light lager, I'm fine with that. You can appreciate and support craft beer and not be so much of a dick that you refuse to drink anything else. It's not hard, and it's all still beer after all.

There are a couple BMC beers I still like, but honestly, I like craft beer mainly because of the taste (read: quality and variety). Yeah, catching a buzz is nice after a hard day at work, but I don't drink to get drunk. Therefore, I'm not going to drink something I don't like for the purpose of getting drunk. Consider it snobbery if you will, but that's just not what I enjoy about beer.

About 6 months before my dad passed last year my brother and I picked him up from the hospital and took him out to eat at a diner. This was in a little town right off the Husdon river and the diner only carried macro brew. My dad proudly bought himself and his 2 sons Heineken because it was the best thing in the place. I think that was the best tasting Heineken I've ever had...

I didn't take this as, when do they have/drink a BMC beer - there are scenarios where you'll drink what's available, even if its not your first choice - I took this as when do they switch permanently from craft to BMC - and I'm gonna go with "never." I just can't envision where you downgrade so badly - and being restricted financially doesn't count really, because I'd imagine that if things started to improve, you'd go back to craft.

Agreed. If either a host offers me one, or if I'm out and someone buys me a beer trying to be nice.

Jesus Christ this place has jumped the shark. I've read the OP 4 times and don't have any idea what the hell is going on other than someone likes the word "suffice" and wants some attention.

Drink your beer, whatever it is, and stop asking dumb questions. If someone legitimately doesn't like BMC, fine. No problem at all. Don't drink it, doesn't bother me. If you like/don't mind a BMC, drink it once in a while. It's pretty damn simple.

Why anyone cares what someone else drinks (outside of maybe close friends or family members) is beyond me. Hell, I wish MORE people drank BMC so I could get some of the good stuff easily again.
