12.99 a 4 pack, but as has been noted, it does not contain coffee.

It just showed up in SW Missouri, I never thought to check the date on the bottle, only really do that with hoppy beers. I have a couple bottles in the basement, I shall have to dig one up & see...

With all the talk about coffee beers losing their coffee flavor with age, I wonder how Sump will be after extended time in the cellar...

I just found a case of 2/17/15 Sump in Philadelphia & drank/sold/traded half of it. The other six bottles are in my cellar. Does anyone have any suggestions as to when my 2/17/15 Sump should be consumed by?

You could normally find some information in the forums about cellaring certain beers. No information about Sump there, or anywhere online. You can be the guinea pig. Post your findings in the cellaring section when you get around to consuming those gems, if you do indeed hang onto them long enough. Thanks.

I find fresh coffee stouts to be too coffee-forward, granted I am not a coffee drinker. I had my first < 1 month Founders Breakfast Stout this year and all I could taste was coffee. I let the other three relax for a while and they were far more enjoyable in January and February. The coffee was still discernible to me, but far less dominating.

Completley agree with you. Had it for the first time not to long ago and it blew my previous #1 (BCBCS) away. Such a prefect coffee beer. I look forward to the day i find something better.

I know from talking to Perennial that they recomend to drink this one Fresh. I have drank 4 or 5 bottles and have 2 more in my celler. I personally like how coffee beers change with age so I am gambling on 2 of them. Unfortunately there is not perfect age formula.

OP, those are three pretty solid examples of the style, and you're 0-3. I'm gonna bet coffee stouts are not your cup of tea, lol.

Simple... Look for some Sump or Java Variant from 50/50 both were phenomenal, and yes I've had BCBCS and its not for me.
