Gotcha! Novare wouldn't work. AFAIK They really only do what you could consider a share once a year with their Chalice club members and that's obviously not open to the public.

Hmm, I didn't know that. I just heard some people talking about going there after the later session. Do you think the portland hotel would let us do it there? Even if we aren't staying there.

I suppose it doesn't hurt to ask, but I will be shocked if the PHH (or any hotel) would allow non-guests to drink outside booze on their premises. I would think your best bet is using a room that someone going to the fest is staying in. Or if you have enough people, book a room just for your share. Good luck and enjoy Portland!

120 tickets on sale at the brewery only at 9 am on Saturday? Dude, if you are not in line already, you're out of luck.

Hoping we can get a share going if anyone has a good thought on a location toss it out. I have a few bottles I'd love to open with company.

Hopefully one of the hotels. I'm staying at a B&B. I'll email and ask.

To each their own, but I found several good deals on hotels in Portland using the numerous sites for that stuff. Actually cheaper than Biddeford based on my searches.

And regarding a share, any chance you think allagash lets us do it in the parking lot or inside after the event? I am new to this stuff, so forgive me if that sounds off the wall. Otherwise, depending on how many people, we can chip in a few bucks each and get a room at a cheap hotel. Regardless, I am bringing a waxed growler of carton shipwreck I purchased at the brewery back in January. I am happy to open it with whomever is interested in trying it(rum barrel porter, very tasty).

Count me in for a share as well if a location can be worked out.

Looking for advice. I'm obviously hitting Novare, but what else in Portland is worth hitting, both beer and non-beer related. I won't have a car so walking distance around downtown preferred.

The highest concentration of goodies on-peninsula is the "yEAST Bayside" neighborhood:

    Rising Tide
    Oxbow Blending and Bottling
    Bunker Brewing

    Maine Craft Distilling
Urban Farm Fermentory [Cider and Kombucha]
    Maine Mead Works

If you were thinking "non-alcoholic" things to do? Pssh... Plenty of shops, ice cream/gelato/frozen yogurt places, delicious restaurants, etc. in the Old Port area to keep you busy near most of the hotels. Take the scenic Mail Boat Cruise to check out all of the islands in Casco bay, hop on and off the ferry just a few blocks from the Old Port. If it's nice enough out you can take the ferry to Peaks Island, rent a bike, check out the awesome views and the abandoned military fort, Battery Steele. Here's a list I wrote up awhile ago with more details on restaurants/breweries/etc. in the area and beyond.

Regardless of all that, I highly suggest you venture over to the Industrial park where Allagash is before the Wild Friendship event begins. Hit up Bissell Brothers, Foundation and Austin Street for a few hours, grab some tastings and shoot the shit with all the awesome brewers/retail staff and the huge influx of people that'll also be in the area for the event.

Contact me for Friday night bottle share. Have a loft downtown Portland and can accommodate a few extra people.
