Yeah I was thinking that was a lot, the most expensive beer COAST has ever sold? I know they did vintages of BA Blackbeerd for $20, but during that time I think the new BA Blackbeerd was $15 I believe.

If anyone from Columbia has an extra bottle or 2 or is going down there soon and wouldn't mind picking some up for me. I would greatly appreciate it. I would reimburse you for it with beer or $$. Thanks!

Since this is a Coast thread thought I'd reach out. Seems the brewery isn't open today so I can't call directly. Debating making a run from HH to Charleston my last day in SC if Boy King is still available at brewery. Can anyone advise?

Brewery is definitely not open today, but I would give CBX or House of Brews a call to see if they have any bottles in stock? Might be gone, but worth a shot.

Weird question but do the BA bottles indicate that it is barrel aged?

@rbradley - Thx man while both recommendations were out of BK they did help me track down what had to be 3 of the last BKs around Cston. Cheers!

Label is same as the regular but BA Blackbeerd is always waxed (and dated in order to determine vintage/barrel type)

Distro for BA Blackbeerd in Columbia area (not sure who still has it, but bottles ranged from $15 to $20 per):

    Greens Assembly
    Greens Piney Grove
    Total Wine
    Morganellis
    Craft and Draft

Just stopping in to say this year's version is really, really good. Neck and neck with '12 for my favorite BA Blackbeerd to date (I've had them all but 2009). I'm not sure of any base beer that is complimented by barrel aging better than Blackbeerd. Well done COAST.

Total Wine in Greenville has it for $16.99 each, I tried it on draft at Whats On Tap....personally, I don't think it's worth that much (what does that translate to $55/sixpack), it had a lot of booze upfront, but wasn't near as full-bodied or complex as I was hoping

I would disagree on the complexity thing. I think its a very complex beer with dark malts, roasty characters, sweetness, and barrel notes. Its one of my favorite beers I'd had this year to date. But I tend to prefer a beer like this to a beer with a ton of adjuncts. Certainly to each their own though.

I saw this was still available at the brewery as of the 14th. Anyone know if it is still available on bottle/on tap at the brewery?

Should be available in both formats if the kegs didn't kick last evening. I can't imagine grabbing bottles will be a problem as there were 20 barrels emptied in total.
