I'm hoping for a Dark Lord Day miracle that leads to no wind, sunny skies and a temperature somewhere in the 20s.

What are those going to be for? They didn't have them last year. It's going to make setting up camp and walking around a little difficult if that's the line to get in.

If I'm to believe my Weatherbug app, then Saturday has been upgraded to 60% chance of showers.

That's better than pouring rain, right?

I believe whatever gives me the best forecast. So yes, Weatherbug is currently the Prophet of Light in my eyes.

    • Group A attendees:stuck_out_tongue:lease enter through the North Gate on Indiana Parkway off of Superior.
    • Group B-E and General Admission attendees: If you are not in Group A, but arriving in the morning before 11am, please line up at the South Gate, by way of Valparaiso and Progress, to the corner of Progress and Indiana Parkway.
    • For later groups and arrivals we will direct you to gates based on the status of the line at the gates.

ENTERING THE FESTIVAL - TICKET REDEMPTION
When you arrive at the gate you must present your official Dark Lord Day ticket and a government-issued state ID or valid passport. Please wear your ticket and keep it visible through out the festival.
    • You will be asked to wear your ticket(s) and show your government issued ID.
    • Staff will confirm you are over 21 years old.
    • The name on your ticket must match the name on your ID or passport. There are no exceptions.
    • If you are bringing a guest they must enter the festival grounds at the same time as you do. Your guest must have a ticket.
    • Your ticket will be scanned at the gate.
    • Keep your ticket with you at all times. You will need it in order to get into your group sales line as well as to receive your Golden Ticket.
    • You will receive a wristband upon entry to the site that must be worn at all times you are in the festival grounds. If you leave and you take off your wristband you will not be issued a new wristband.
    • If you have a group sales ticket, please do not line up any earlier than 30 minutes prior to the start of that sale. Creating lines before your call time congests festival grounds and will be prohibited.
    • There are no tickets for sale at the gate.
    • Tickets are non-transferable.

On second look at the map, that might be it. Did that many people have problems with tickets? Seems like a pretty big area for that.

Those bag measurements are nuts. Something that small cannot hold 4 bottles of Dark Lord, and those cardboard holders should never be trusted; especially with rainfall. Plus, not everyone has a car to put stuff in as drinking and driving is a terrible idea. I'm guessing all reasonable sized bags will be allowed even if they are slightly over the measurements.

Also, the group As only allowed at the north gate seems kinda dumb. Why would you want 80% of the fest lining up at one gate?

Yes. This looks to be the ticket resolution line. Hopefully so it doesn't co-mingle with the Group A entry too much.

From the email I saw on FB (grain of salt if it's real), north gate process will be:
    • Line up on Superior Ave. until 8:30
    • At 8:30, people funnel into the cattle corrals shown on the map
    • If you need ticket resolution, you get pulled into there, processed, then merged back into the main line
    • Doors blow at 10:00, go through security, and mad dash for glasswhalez

Fuck the glass whalez. I'm making a bee line to try and nab a spot under a tent.

I would assume that the bag measurements is a statement to not bring a duffle bag with straps!!!!

"Three Floyds brewers created a beer tribute to the star of the Fuse Network show “Big Freedia Queen of Bounce” called Big Freedia Ale — a pink daiquiri-like Belgian Ale set to debut on Dark Lord Day."

So, it sounds like if you're in Group A (myself and 2 other friends are) then you won't be able to bottle share in line with members of your other group that have groups B-E and GA? That absolutely sucks balls!

Also, I wouldn't worry about the dimensions of the bag that you can bring in. Just bring a "regular sized" backpack that will fit over your shoulders and you'll be fine.

That is straight up bad-ass. I'm not always on-board with FFF as I sometimes feel like they're a little full of themselves (although I know no one there personally, so I base this only on casual observation). However, to put such a statement in what is arguably the highest-profile beer fest in the country says a lot. Now I'm even happier to be showing up this year, rain (most likely) or shine, and I've gained some more respect for Nick and his crew.
