Surly Coming To PA???

No. They can't service their own markets, let alone new ones.

Doubt it, they are finally getting back into Wisconsin after a few (too many) years. Wouldn't imagine they are ready to travel across the country yet.

 

Doubt it too, can't see what's in it for them, they already sell the hell out of their beers in market.

 

They're currently in Minnesota (duh), parts of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Chicago. I can't imagine PA being their next stop. Especially they can't even meet demand in their current markets. I hope to hell this isn't true, only because I'm tired of living 5 hours from the brewery and not ever being able to find Darkness when it's released.

 

I think they ship some stuff out for Philly beer week but only for that. That might be what you heard about.

What info was it? Simply, they were coming? From a good source? As others have said there are more local markets that would make more sense though I'd love being able to pick up some Coffee Bender every once and a while.

 

Like to know the curious bit of info too. Wouldn't mind seeing Furious and Abrasive on PA shelves too, but find it very difficult to believe.

 

It was definitely in Philly for last years BeerWeek.

 

Hope they come back again for Philly Beer Week. Got to try Darkness at POPE last year.

 

FYI I was talking to one of my local shops (NYC obviously) and supposedly Surly was in the area getting a survey of the land, speaking with distributors etc, and are planning to come to NYC (but likely not for another ~6mo or so, everything still quite preliminary). This isn't confirmed obviously, but supposedly he met with the Surly guys, so should be somewhat legit. I would guess they might have done the same thing in PA...might be more real than you guys think

 

Funny how these rumors pop up, last year at this time it was NC...now it's PA...

France44.com is the place to get your surly fix...except PA doesn't allow booze from other states to be shipped in.

 

I get stuff shipped to me in VA, and then send to my buddy in Philly...or if he's close by for work, I'll meet him and hand it off.

@barflybastard have you got someone in NJ, or VA that you can ship to their house and then they can ship to you?

I used to do that for my friends in NJ a couple of years ago, when NJ didn't allow shipping...

 

Think by the time I pay shipping twice, I might as well arrange for a road trip (or hit up the trading forums).

 

That's true...I did order 6 cases of Abrasive between January and March of 2015 from france44.com and Haskell's...it's so good when it hits your lips!

Will try BA Darkness at Savor in a little over a month!
