Could anyone tell me how crazy these events get? Such as the sin frontera sale next wednesday. Will it all sell out that day or if i show up thursday can i probably snag a bottle? Are lines crazy and forming at 7am the day of? Any info would be helpful

    Thanks

Good news man - these releases tend to be really low-key, and you should almost certainly be able to swing by a day or two after the release and snag bottles. No waiting in lines, getting up early...etc.

    Tom,

You'll be fine... no lines, no craziness. A lot of laid-back people. They don't start selling the new beer until 6PM the day of the release, and I usually go a few hours later and there are always open tables and seats at the bar. There might be more immediate interest this week because of the JK connection, but you should be fine showing up thursday.

He might be thinking of the old WWB and Reserve Society releases. Those really were bananas, but in the best possibly way.

Wouldn't agree it was the "best possible way". Still a sore spot about their 6 bottle limit which was always ridiculous to me. Also, if you see a giant line of people and know you're going to run out of beer, doesn't it make sense to send someone down the line and essentially count the number of people/bottles being sold and find the cutoff point? If anyone stays after that then it's on them. Would've taken 1 staff member 30 minutes to do that and save 300 or so people 3 hours of their life. okI'mdone.

But yeah nowadays their system is big enough to get to tons of distribution points and then some so their releases are no problemo.

If I had to guess, which I'm totally guessing -- considering JK is 5,000 bottles (750ml) and $20 ea. and 3pp per day, I would guess there's 10,000 Crooked Stave bottles (375ml) and will be $10 ea. with 6 bottle limit (maybe a case?)

10,000 bottles is like 833 cases, so probably plenty. But again I'm totally speculating because I have no idea how big the CS batch is compared to JK.

I'm planning on going Thurs/Fri like I normally do

My biggest question(s) are surrounding the JK & Trois versions... I doubt we'll see either, but both technically distribute here... possible keg(s)? Second question is if we'll see the Crux/Crooked Stave collab as well?!?!

I put up an ISO for the Crux/CS collab last week and was messaged by an Oregon BA who said CS had plans to release it at some point. He sounded pretty confident.

I've never seen JK in CO, though I also have heard that they technically distribute here. Have always been curious about that...

JK does distribute to CO via CSA from time to time however the last shipment was GABF. With their ever growing popularity and them unable to meet the demand they've decided to downsize from distributing regionally to just pretty TX only.

Oregon already got limited release of bottles during CBC week, did he mean other than that?

Yeah, he meant a CS release in Denver.

Crooked Stave put out a teaser in regards to the Crux collab on their facebook. Certainly sounded like it could happen. And with the track record of CS I wouldn't be shocked if either of the other versions made it here at some point. That last part is speculation but you can check on the crux collab. No timeline.

The Crux collab is just a single beer One-Off [BANISHED] Wild Sour Golden Ale (which means one barrel of it = 365 bottles @ $29/bottle), and it sounds like Crooked Stave has some to distribute in Denver, they're just figuring out timing of release.

For Sin Frontera, they had some of the Jester King version (limit 3pp) for sale with the Crooked Stave version at the brewery last night. My guess is that the Trois version still needs label approval or isn't coming... sounds like it's not being released in Switzerland until May, but are serving all 3 variants at some Shelton Bros. event in Florida in October.

I think I heard rumblings that the Trois version isn't coming.

Talked to the bartender at CS last night, and he said the plan is to have some Trois Dames bottles for sale here in Denver, but they have pushed back their release a couple of times already so he didn't know when.
