Something to be said about that....

Another soloist here. I'm glad to see that we make up about a third of everyone weighing in.

I generally get up earlier on brew day than other days. It's just too damn early to drink and I'm busy multitasking a sub 5 hour brew session. When I'm done, a beer is well earned.

Solo brewer here. And my wife really appreciates it if I do it when she is not around. Just can't get good help these days... To be honest, even though my process rarely varies, it usually goes more smoothly if no one else is around as distractions tend to get me off course.

My wife used to hate the odor of the boil. ('Odor' to her, 'fine aroma' to me.) So I began brewing out on the back porch. Over time, she has come to like that fine aroma, even favorably commenting about it when some of it wafts indoors.

I brew solo...indoor meditation time when I can't be out bouldering, mountain biking or kayaking.

    I don't have any friends*

I would prefer to brew solo most of the time anyway.

Brew solo on the 5-gal system I have at my house, and brew together (with my old Bamberg roommate) on the 1 BBL system at his house. We also have the rule of no drinking during brewing. (After is a different story...)

About 5 months ago, I was with some friends at a brewpub. They were doing a stout of some sort. 7 barrel batch, ~20 feet from the tasting room. The mash smelled like heaven. Like Grandma was baking brownies. The boil smelled like corn. Although I didn't hang around for the next 2 weeks, I'm pretty sure beer ensued.

This is why you need to brew session beers.

I do about half solo with a bit of help from my wife and half with friends willing to provide a lot of help. I like both ways for different reasons. I don't drink until flame out, but I allow my guests to drink lightly if they wish before then.

I brew with one other friend of mine. As the warmer months come, I don't mind having more friends over while we brew. Usually I'll get the smoker going and make some good eats to enjoy while everything is going on. Ends up being a great time.

always solo. friends and family just tend to get in the way of my workflow.

i don't answer texts or phone calls while brewing either. don't want to miss a hop addition or temperature swing.

Me, myself and I. I like to brew on my schedule, and not have to coordinate.

Every once in a great while someone wants to learn, so I let them help out.

Its usually just me, but I can usually recruit some help. Especially if I offer up some beer...
